Do your children have an advent calendar? Mine do even though they are aged 14 and two 12 year olds. I think they are more intersted in the chocolate that is behind each door!!Ha Ha When they were little I used to buy them proper ones without chocolates in them. What always used to get me was that these ones cost more than the ones with chocolate in them!!!! Mine can't wait until the 1st December!!!! Choccy heaven, choccys before school... now that is a treat in itself in our house.

Advent Calenders are fun. I love the Lego Advent Calenders. Those are super cool. Especially the Star Wars Lego Advent Calender, that one is very special.

I currently have three in the house. I bought one for the family with decent chocolate in it. My mother in law sent one to my daughter, and my brother bought one for my daughter as well. That means all three of us have our own this year. Hopefully, next year we will communicate better, because I know that I do not need all the extra chocolate.

I dont have them right now. I used to have them when I only had one child. I think that I might just get one this year. I always had them when I was younger. I remember it was fun to count down the days. And then the kids could count the days down and be able to find out for themselves.

Yes it is fun for the children although I don't agree with eating chocolate in the mornings before school but they still can't wait until they get home from school

I just bought two advent calendars yesterday at the grocery store for my children. They love it. They get so excited every morning when they get to open up a little door on the calendar and see a little chocolate surprise. I remember my parents always got them for me when I was little. What a fun treat for kids to have.

Sorry I'm goin to wast my money on something like that. It's a bit silly I think. The one my husband onces is on the expensive side. Here is more important things that we need to buy then that. Like our daughters food and diapers over an advent calendar.

We don't have children. However, one is never too old for those calendars. LOL Nothing better than something that gives you a piece of chocolate every day.

If you are never too old, does that mean you do have one!!!

I tried it once, and forgot to open them. A friend got herself one, with the chocolates and forgot it too... What can I say, I'd probably MAKE an Advent calender before I bought one!

I remember when my brother was little, my mother bought all the years the Advent calendar. My brother, then look behind every door to discover that of 24 December. Probably for him it was difficult to resist the goodness of chocolate.
@Anne18 (11029)

It can be very hard to resist, but somehow they do it

Advent calendars are great as a method of teaching patience and obedience. The temptation of a chocolate behind each door and restraint in not opening all the doors at once. Did you find that the temptation of the chocolate got them out of beg eagerly.

It will do tomorrow, sometimes they ask if they can do two days in one go!!! I always say no and tell them they will have to wait!!! Cruel mother that I am
