I am not sure what I could recommend for your best romantic getaway other than to check out this website. They look at this question all the time, which is not to diminish any one's personal experience. http://specials.about.com/service/newsletters/honeymoons/1297425600.htm There are a lot of options, so you will have to decide what factors are most significant for you.

I think an adventure in Central America could be a romantic trip doing things like climbing Mayan ruins, spotting wildlife and spending time on palm fringed beaches. I visited Mexico, Belize and Guatemala on my own. I did some island hopping with my ex-boyfriend and that was a very romantic trip indeed. I hired bikes and cycled to the other side of La Digue Island. We parked the bikes and took a walk. We had a delightful afternoon at a deserted beach. We were alone together in a spot that looked like paradise. With that ex-boyfriend for Valentines Day we went to Bruges in Belgium. It is known as the Venice of the North. It is such a romantic and charming destination. Whilst there it snowed and it looked even more picturesque. Wow!

Positano is very popular for romantic getaways and honeymoons. It is a town in the Amalfi Coast of Italy built into the cliffs along the shore - breathtaking! But lots of steps - up and down to get anywhere.
