You Can't Save Your Life!

You hear a lot about saving lives. But if you stop to think about it, none of us can really save anybody's life. All we can do is hope to make their lives last a little longer. Very few people live to be a hundred years old. Even before that time, most people get pretty tired of living in the world. So Jesus was telling the truth everybody can understand: "Whoever desires to save his life will lose it." But then Jesus said something amazing: "Whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." How can you "find" your life by losing it? God is the Author of your life. Every moment of your life is in His hand. So if you lose your life by giving it back to Him, you don't really lose it. Jesus gives His eternal life to you when you give your short life to Him. That's a pretty good trade! :-)
