My boyfriend's sister died on Monday. I knew her for four years, and I have been taking care of her for four years. She was 20-years-old, and she has had severe brain damage and seizures since birth. In her last days she suffered terribly, and there wasn't much that anyone could do for her. My boyfriend and his family are going through a lot right now. My boyfriend also stopped his drunk step-father from committing suicide, and he has a injured hand to show for it. He has nine stitches in all from trying really hard to get the knife out of his step-father's hand. I feel so bad for my boyfriend right now, and I know what he is going through because I too lost my brother five years ago. My brother was also 20 when he died. My brother died from a long time struggle with Type 1 Diabetes. I also know what it is like to deal with a drunk step-father who can be horrible to deal with when he is drunk (my step-father tried to steal from my mother's purse when he was drunk and this was after my brother died as well). I guess that I found the man that I want to be with for the rest of my life because we both know what it is like. We are both part of that club that no one wants to ever be a part of.
