i love cooking and baking, when i was young i used to watch my parents doing their recipes in their mini restaurant. i dreamed of being a chef and dreamed of making beautiful and artistic cakes. i tried to read books, magazines and some articles about making cakes. i spend hours and nights studying how to make cakes. i learned to make beautiful cakes over the net! and now i am earning extra income from my hobby. i've got birthday cakes orders, wedding cakes, and even school canteen cupcakes and brownies. i really love making cakes, and earning extra income from it!

I am not telling here that I am that good cook but I have been in the business for almost 26 years. Now I have leave it because there are some more critical explanations why I closed my business.I love to cook and that has something to do with my happiness in making delicious foods not just for my family but also to all my probable customers and certainly to all my current customers. All hobbies could become a potential money generator. It is up to the hobbyist if he thinks his hobby could make a good investment for his pocket that continued to acquire his interest by buying another item to enrich his collection.

My dad and I have done craft fairs in the past. We do stained glass. Now that I am living over 2 hours away it is hard to get up and help. It is difficult to get enough product with just him. I am hoping to help over the summer so we can both have a bit of extra spending money come the christmas holidays.

That is really wonderful! Earning money for doing the things you love to do? That's the awesomest thing to do in the world. As for me, I'm not a cook and I don't know how to bake cake (and I want to lean how to bake), but my hobby is beadworking/jewelry making. I am actually planning to open up a business this year. I want sell my jewelry creations so good luck for me!

wow! Great for you! I myself am a culinary arts graduate but I'm having a hard time looking for a job. I did think about making my own stuff, cooking and selling them. I just didn't put it into action yet. Anyways, congrats on your accomplishment. :)

That is very nice. I'm happy for you that you found something that you enjoy doing and that you put hardwork into learning more about it. Now that you are making money from your hobby, your hard work and determination has paid off. Now, you get to do what you enjoy a lot and as an added bonus you get money in return for it too. I'm sure it gives you a lot of pleasure, so continue with your hobby...

That is so awesome! I am happy you took the time to find something you enjoy doing and incorporate it into an income. Sure makes working easier doesnt it? I did ceramics for 25 years. Ran the business from my home to keep overhead low and worked with candy shops, country stores, and also 9 different florists shops. I got so good at my hobby I could take an figurine and manage to cut holes in it to have flowers added. I enjoyed it very much but arthritis took over and I cannot lift the molds anymore as they are so heavy. In turn I learned a new hobby cross stitching and knitting. I sell some cross stitch cards online when I have some made. Right now I am knitting on two blankets for grandbabies. Then I think I will turn my interests back to making a few cross stitch cards to sell again. And I am also working on 3 larger projects as I am making one for each of my family and friends to remember me by. Enjoy your passion for your hobby. It can really help you when times get tough! now could you send me a cupcake? Take a picture of one of your cakes and place on here with a discussion it would be awesome to see what you have made! I see you are new WELCOME TO MYLOT! have a wonderful day!
