I have a big family i have a lot of people to say "good night" to before i go to sleep, but somehow i feel awkward in doing so. haha.. i am used to going to bed without saying anything to anyone. they would just find me snoring in one corner of the bed. so, are you used to saying "good night"?

We don't go to sleep without saying a prayer and a goodnight. Don't feel awkward , say it so all the rest will follow later on it will be a good practice of the family. It is so beautiful to express to our family that they are being loved. ..here i am an outsider but a friend , saying ..Goodnight Friend ! God bless !

If there is people around when I am going to sleep, then I do and try to say good night. Or awake. Of course, even if it is just me alone right in the house, I think that I would be inclined to say good night anyway. What can I say? It has just been a habit that has been ingrained right in the back of my mind for all time. It just seems like the well mannered thing that should be done before each and every night before we go to sleep. So, I do in fact say good night right before I go right to sleep. It is really just something that is a habit. Even if no one is really around when it is time for me to go to sleep, it still exists into a habit. I guess habits that get ingrained in you from childhood are something that is rather hard to broke. It just seems like there is no closure when I just head off to sleep when I have not said good night. That is just the way things turn out.

I have to say and need to hear. My hubby was begining to go to sleep without saying and after I while I realized this change and he apologized, saying it wasn't on purpose. Now it's funny that I even get freakd out sometimes because I know he slept already and half an hour, an hour later he just says "Good night, baby" out of nowhere when I'm already distracted :D But he does says now.

I usually say goodnight to my daughter when she is laying down for a nap or is going to bed for the evening. This helps her to get into a routine and to know when it's time for bed. Our family is small so it isn't hard to say good night to family members.

At the present time I live alone, so it is not normal for me to say goodnite when going to bed. However, when I am living with others it seems perfectly normal for me to do so. I guess that it comes from growing up in a close family and we always said goodnite to each other at the end of the day.

oh sometimes we do, sometimes we don't. =) but we are not used to saying goodnight to each other. we would just talk to each other while in bed and will eventually fall asleep.

To my children, yes, I say goodnight and tell them that I love them. My youngest has to have multiple hugs, kisses, and be told repeatedly. She even throws in the XOXO bit. I don't always tell my husband, though. I tcould be because he stays up so late that I crash on the couch or while reading while waiting for him to go to bed. Growing up it was an every night thing. I would always get a hug, kiss on the cheek, and a "Goodnight, I love you" from both my mom and dad. I suppose that would be why I have to tell my kids now. It is because that is the way I was raised. That, and I want them to go to sleep each night knowing that I love them.

I am not used of saying goodnight either as i was raised like that, but as time passes by and i grow up and meet many people and learn many things, i discover that saying goodnight to your loveones is just a little thing you can do that will make someone feel special, so i am married now and i say goodnight to my baby even if she doesn't understand it for now, and i love her smile after i gave her a kiss as i said my goodnight....

I do whenever I go to bed earlier than my husband. But I do say goodnight every night and kiss my baby girl's forehead.

I don't see any reasons why you can't say good night before you sleep. And besides, you don't know what will happen the day after. You might not wake up anymore (knock on wood). For me, saying good night and praying will actually give you a great slumber. :))

we get the waltons on two different channels (its a late 70s tv show about a big family and how they survived) and anyways, i have been watching them and they always say goodnight to each other before they go to bed. the closing scene is always them saying goodnight. i always say goodnight to my hubby and kiss him and tell him i love him. i still even tuck in my 15 year old and will do so til she doesnt want me to anymore.

My youngest daughter is such a sweet child, so we always ended up with so many words, goodnight, sweet dreams, and a lot of iloveyou. We too pray together before going to bed. My oldest daughter is staying in her grandparents' house but we always have a dinner in their house so we could say our good night to her. My youngest would hug and kissed her older sister and would tell that she will miss her even if she know that they will see each other again early the next day and they would go to school together.

I am used to say good night every night, it somewhat makes me feel comfortable and it really gives that soothing feeling, you know that a day is done and time to take some rest, I guess it is the most comforting thing to say every night.

The only person I say good night to is my daughter when me and my husband put her down to bed every night. Other wise I just say I love you to my husband since we will be going to bed together anyways.

I am part of a big family too. I must say it is not a practice in our house. I dont know if it is wierd but sometimes I do tell myself goodnight especiaaly if I had a great day or a bad one. Good night for today and hope for a better tomorrow. Maybe its just my way to tell myself that a job well done for today and tomorrow do it better, make it best. :) The power of my positive thinking :)
