People of colour? I am caucasian, not colourless. I have low levels of the pigment, eumelanin and it is a genetic mutation. My blonde hair and blue eyes are indicative of European descent. Most of the time, I am considered white, which is rightfully the absence of colour. I am subject to reverse racism and am considered unintelligent in mainstream humour. As I write this, I have just read a forum thread about the "Blonde Haired, Blue Eyed Race" having been created by aliens. Obviously, someone has read "The Midwich Cuckoos" and mistook it for non-fiction. Thank you conspiracy theorists. I really don't think so. And to the Jamaican woman who told me that, "All people with blonde hair and blue eyes are spoiled," how does a genetic mutation make me spoiled?! Do you have some kind of rational platform to base this mentality upon?! As far as being racist, I am not, but I am an ethnocentric Canadian who is proud of our nation's diversity. Please think twice before you laugh at a blonde joke.

I do not condone overgeneralization and bashing other people... but blonde jokes... well, I don't see any trouble in them. Those who know about themselves that they are not that type that's in the joke would laugh it off. It's just a joke, and jokes almost always build up from stereotypes. If everyone who felt offended by a joke because it was about their nation/looks/occupation, half the world would sob and be angry. A normal person, even if they laught at a joke, know that not all blonds are stupid, not all policemen are stupid (at least in my country policemen jokes are the ones besides blonde jokes about stupidity), all the Jews are greedy and all the Scottish people are extremely thrifty...

All Swedes are dumb, all Mexicans are illegal, all people who speak a Latino dialect are from Mexico. All Native Americans are offended at school mascots that incorporate headdresses, tomahawks and the title "braves". I have heard a lot of others over the years and they are really not true.

When I was in my late teens Polish jokes were the trend. My younger brother was still in high school We lived in a very "red necked" state, where we had grown up, but we had a family that discussed ethnicity and family heritage quite a bit. Our last name, to anyone who knows a little about languages, was definitely German. However, he could embarrass people every time. They would tell a (usually demeaning)Polish joke in his presence, and he would look at them "deadpan" and say. "Don't you know, I am Polish". He delighted in doing that. I only laugh at blonde jokes if it is a blonde telling it to me, because they do so in fun. I live not far from a community that is known as "Little Sweden USA", and they love to tell jokes about "the dumb Swede", other races are a bit more hypersensitive. I am a definite melting pot but all I had to do was wear my hair in braids and a loose fitting dress and people were sure I was full blood Indian, or to be correct, Native American. We so often just barely even look at people. I mean, hazel eyes and freckles? What tribe is that from. I do proudly claim my 1/1024 part Choctaw blood, but I really look more European than anything.
