How special that first cuddle is

It happens only once per kid, that first cuddle. It is a wonderful, special moment in life. It makes tears come to your eyes. I remember my first cuddle with both of my children, and each one was so special to me. I will remember these moments for the rest of my life. After everything that my wife and I went through, along the way to having our last child, tears flooded from my eyes when I held my baby girl. Her being in this world made life so much better for me. Do you hold the memories of the first cuddle close to your heart?

Once I have my baby in September, I'll be able to answer this one better. I feel like it will be one of the most special times I will spend with my son.

That first cuddle with the newborn baby is a special moment that will never be forgotten. In my home country it is normal for the midwife to let that mom have her baby to cuddle as soon as he or she is born for a quick moment. The midwife might have to do an emergency measure if the baby is poorly like she did when my disabled son was born. His back had to be wrapped in cling film and he was taken away in an ambulance. I had a quick and easy birth with him so in the evening I visited him in the special care baby unit and had that magical first cuddle. He was connected to many tubes and he was in a glass sided cot next to tiny babies in incubators. I was scared in case one of the tubes came away. He was very delicate and I had to be especially careful. My daughter was born two years later and I got that magical first cuddle with her. Wow! It felt very special and wonderful.
