Each morning one of the first things I do is look out at the early morning sky. I know that the light which allows me to see the far distant stars started traveling toward earth so long ago that it is hard to visualize it's origin. But each morning when I do this it helps me put into perspective my being alive here on earth. What a terribly small creature I am and no matter what happens to me in that day, the importance is only from my point of view. It keeps me very humble.

A good quality to learn from you. Being humble is an admirable feature of anyone who possess it. It becomes difficult to manage between the urge to obtain success and at the same time maintaining humbleness. At that moment it is good to turn up to the sky and actually get to know how a tiny part we make of this huge and versatile world.

that's a very nice perspective in life. "the happiness of our lives depends upon the quality of our thoughts, but the quality of our thoughts, depends on the people we have in our thoughts."

Isn't it awe inspiring. I love to look up at the night sky and get swept away by the stars, it is very much the same thing. We are not near so important as we think we are.

That is a good way to look at things. If you see the bigger picture, the part that you play is quite small. At the end of the day, you just are happy to have a part at all. You were created and you are here. This is an example of tremendous priviledge, luck, and wonder. I hope that more people can have this understanding as well.

That's a great way to start the day and set your personal perspective. Knowing how insignificant we are in the scheme of the universe allows us to avoid thinking everything in our lives is so important--we can relax more because we know nothing we do will be earth-shattering. I start each day looking out my bedroom window, at the green lawns and gorgeous trees, the squirrels running along the wires and the rooftops of my neighbors. I see the sky, whether cloudy or sunny, and look at everything God has blessed me with. It humbles me and I feel so grateful to have a warm house and clothing, a full belly and good health as well as people who love me. That always starts my day well.

Yes, I find having a Good perspective towards things helps no matter what we are going thru. When we can look at something and be Thankful for who we are, what really does matter is our thoughts. If we can continue to always look forward and have a Good perspective no matter what is going on in our life, we will always be one step ahead.

Hi savypat, I like to look up at the stars and wonder much the same thing. The earth itself is but a speck of dust in a universe that appears to have no end. As far as we can understand, there can be no end to space - because what would be beyond it? We are but a speck of dust on this speck of dust that we call earth. All life on earth comes to an end -it is just a endless cycle. I guess we will never learn the answer in this life, but perhaps, somewhere, sometime we will experience conscientiousness again. We should all feel very humble as it is all a great mystery, not only to you and me but to all who are living in this world. Blessings.

This is a grat way to start the morning. I love to look out at the horizon also. It puts me in awe of our Creator that he created all these things in order to bring us to that form of humility that you feel. He is great!
