It is hard to imagine life without water. These two days we have no water in our building and we have to go and fetch water from another place close to the school canteen. It is so inconvenient without water as it is badly needed. Just now when I went downstairs with my plastic bucket to fetch water, I met one of our Austrian teacher and greeted him. He said to me that now he sees how important it is to have water for daily use. It is true that without water we can not cook, wash, and so on. When water is available to us, we don't usually think too much of it till it is unavailable to us. Since water is so important to us, we must cherish it instead of wasting water when we have water to use. So my question to you is: When water is available to you, are you careful not to waste it? Thanks in advance for your responses. Take care! November 22nd, 2012. 23:00p.m

I think most of us are guilty of taking water for granted, we only have to turn on the tap and voila, we have water, so we think nothing more about it, water is an endless supply and we don't stop and think what it would be like not to have water. I know those in poorer countries where famine is rife and the only water they have is a pipe which they have to walk sometimes hundreds of miles to collect, none of us could imagine doing that for one second. We are careful with water in that we very rarely have baths at home only showers.

Hello wolfie. You are right that the majority of us are guilty of taking water for granted. Often I see some people doing some washing under the public taps outside our school's canteen. Most of them let the water run all the time when they are washing their clothes. I feel guilty for them not to cherish water when we have it. Many times I see water running out of the taps without anyone using it but with their clothes under the taps. When I see no one using it, I walk up and turn it off to save water. If they are right there using water, that is different. I hope more people will get to be more conscious of the importance of water. Take care.

So true. I 'm so grateful to have life's greatest necessities running through a pipe to let us have whenever we so choose. As for me personally, I pretty much drink water between bites to dilute the flavor, so having no water or water being relegated to one spot would be abysmal for me. (I guess drinking that much water is selfish, so I started to drink less.)

In fact I regard myself as a person who cares about the environment. So I will not waste the energy or any resource in vain on purpose. So even if the water is available here, I will not waste it anyway. I know it is precious. If there is without water, I just find it quite inconvenient. I am sorry to hear that there is no water in your side. I hope this problem will be solved soon. I can't imagine there is no water to wash.

Hello mariaperalta. Now I am happy to tell you that a few minutes ago, the water pipe in my bathroom started to make some sound. I went in to find that water is coming back to us once again after two days of water shortage. I have to thank the local water factory for the availability of water again. Take care.

Water is precious! - I use it to dilute orange squash and for so many other usages. Thank God for an abudance of water in this nation.
I think it's fair to say I don't like waste in general. I can't see myself wasting water even if I have it in abundant suppply which I do, thanks to God. For example, when I boil water for coffee or tea, I never throw whatever I don't use away: I'll use it for washing articles of cutlery, or mild disinfection of my hands or the taps. I feel safe in saying I think I'd be uncomfortable with a tap running for no reason: I might be conscious of the preciousness of water; and how fortunate I am in my country to have as much water as I want. Water is precious; yes even when we have as much as we want.

I can live without electric power but I can't live without water. I hate people who are irresponsible the way they used water. I can't waste water I also teach my kids not to waste anything specially the important one.

Yes, we should always teach our children to appreciate and use water and electricity with most appropriate ways. Teach them not waste them, as much as possible. My son knows when to switch off the water tap and when to switch off the light, when he is the person who use them.

William, most of the time, we don't appreciate how important water is to us. Only when we are living a day without the water supply, then we would realized the importance of it. I ever gone through a few times, living without water for nearly a day. And that is really a very sad and painful situation. I can't cook, eat and wash my things freely like usual. Since i ever gone through these types of situation, i had learned to appreciate and use water and electricity wisely. I had tried my best not to waste as much of both important sources in my home.

Water seems to be something that is always available at low cost to many people. That is why these people do not aware that water is actually quite scarce now that some nations are already having the problem to provide clean water to the citizen. There is one characteristic of people that has never changed and is suitable to describe their behavior, people would only know what to cherish after losing it. When the day comes that everyone have no water to drink, then they will start regretting what they have done all this while. I do try my best to save water.
