American Idol Season 12

I have to say that when I heard the judges for American Idol were changing so drastically, I was a bit skeptical. In fact, I had not planned on watching it this season. My nine year old daughter insisted that we watch it on Wed and Thursday. I was actually really impressed. I think I laughed more at these audtions than I have in the past. I am not sure if the auditions are just that bad, or if the judges have something to do with it. It is probably a combination of both. I am not a huge fan of Nikki Minaj or Mariah Carey, but their bantering back and forth made me laugh quite a bit. I am not sure if I liked the guy that my daughter calls the plastic guy (guy with a wig and red costume) or the 15 Justin Beiber wanna be better! I will say that I hope the Turbanator gets through. He is awesome! What do you idol fans think? Who was your favorite?

I haven't had the time to watch it yet but would probably watch it this weekend on a rerun. I'm pretty excited to see Mariah be a judge and so with Keith. As with Nikki, I'm not a big fan but I think the combination of the judges can be pretty interesting. It's nice to hear other people's comments and thoughts. Change can be good at times, and I think that with the rise of The Voice, X Factor and other reality competition shows, American Idol needed the change of format to keep that kind of interest to viewers and to fans like us.

It was actually a rumor that Randy was leaving. I have watched the first two episodes, and he is still there! There are four judges now instead of three, which adds a very interesting dynamic!

I will not be watching it this year. i could not stand the new judges nikki, or mariah. it was their bantering back and forth that really turned me off. i only made it through the first half hour on wed...and did not watch at all on Thursday. this will be the first year that i will not be watching. I have always been a loyal fan of the show till now.

I had not planned to watch American Idol last night but I was not working and did watch some of it. I need to get used to the new judges and format. I liked the show. I did not love it but I liked it. I always like Randy and I am glad that he is still on. I thought the three new judges handled themselves ok but it will take time to get used to the new personalities. I guess Nikki and Mariah really do not like each other in real life. It will be interesting to see what will happen between them. I had no favorites among the performers. I never do in the beginning. Some were really bad and others were pretty good. I will continue to tune in when I am home.

Mariah and Nikki's hate for each other sure makes the show interesting. I don't have an overall favorite but there were audtions that I enjoyed more than others.

I never could stand this show, honestly. In fact, I only watch it now to see Nicki and Mariah fight...I can't stand Nicki, but I ride with her on their fake beef because they just sit and take jabs at each other..it's so much more interesting to just watch them argue than to listen to the people sing...

My kids love the show which is a big part of why we watch it. I loved Steven Tyler, but these judges may just be more interesting than him!

I watch American Idol regularly from almost the end of Season 3 (too bad I wasn't able to watch the start and middle part of it) until now. Nicki's reaction whenever there is a good looking or hunk guy is really funny. Among those who auditioned, I find Catherine (forgot her alias) really good. I'm not sure if she will make it far too since she is too bizarre. The girl (forgot her name as well) who sung for Obama I think will get through Hollywood week and will make it to the top 24 at least. The most unforgettable hopeful for me aside from the girl who create her own outfit (costume?) is the guy who stutters when he talks but not when singing.

Very rarely have i seen this show, as i stopped seeing it because i started liking the another dance show that comes on star world. It is interesting. I love to watch dance, it is funny when i can't dance but i am very good singing and won several shows as well. But i don't know i was forced there to sing other ways i don' really like singing.

I only watched on Wednesday night and did not like Nicki Minaj at all. She kept disrespecting Mariah and I thought it was so annoying. As for Randy and Keith I like them both. I just don't think I will be staying with the show this year. It would be the first time I have not watched since the beginning. However, I still miss Simon and I seriously don't think Nicki Minaj has any business being a judge since she has only been in the business for maybe five years. Who is she to judge? As for the contestants yes I liked the turbanator he was pretty good also the girl who sang country and another girl who I can't her name at all. No one though blew me away. I need to feel goosebumps or have tears for me to really like someone.

I miss Simon too. He was great! The show hasn't been the same since he left. I completely understand what you mean about goosebumps. Only one contestant did that for me, and it was last night. The very last contestant had a stutter. However, it completely went away when he was singing. You should see if you can find it on Youtube. I really liked him alot.

I'm not an American but I like watching American Idol. It's kind of funny when they are in audition. And impressing as well to those who have good voices. The judges before are really good. I'm not the fan of Mariah Carey as well. Anyway, I will still watch the American Idol Season 12.
