SEO is basically how easily your content can be found when using the search engine and how will be able to make your site or content appears when people search for something on the web. This is a very broad topic, I supposed which you have to study over a period of time. The first thing to consider is writing a quality content. Using the right keywords, back linking, promoting the site to some networks and bookmarking are some of the things that you should do. There are some sites that explain this SEO thing. Maybe this one can help you. http://contributor.yahoo.com/academy/course/37/backlinking_basics.html Have a nice day!

he he. That is the result of sleeping less trying to figure out everything by myself because I want to prove to my offline friends that I am on the right path. I am really learning little things everyday and I am happy about it. Thanks wolfie for the appreciation!

First, look at the name of the thing itself: SEO ... search-engine optimization ... meaning that 'all SEO is' is "making your site good for search-engines." That means 'speaking their language' (not any spoken language, but the Internet's 'markup-language' the search-engine uses---bbcode, HTML, C++, whatever they use) A purpose presents itself: getting a high ranking on the search-engine, so that you appear on one of the first screens when people are looking for what you are offering (your type of news, -information, -products, -services, -etc.) That means making sure that certain factors in 'the formula the SEs use to figure-out how high to list you & -others in your niche' (the SE's "algorhythm") present high numbers (or low-numbers, depending on the way that particular algorhythm works): you want the right number of 'keywords' (or whatever your fave SE calls 'words that indicate who/what/where/when/why/how your site is')--not enough, and they can't KNOW your site enough; too many, and the algorhythm might filter-out your site as "SPAM"-- you want a large number of visitors to your site--you might think 'Well, isn't that what I'm doing SEO for?" Maybe, but 'number of visitors' is also usually an important factor in SEO ... so important that 'other people visiting your site' is often THE VERY FACTOR that puts you on the search-engine's list! So you have to distribute important links to people (your friends, other contacts, other surfers on bookmarking sites). If you provide the [i]right/[i] useful information, your friends/contacts/audience will share your link with their friends who'll share it with theirs who'll share it with ... etc. So that's the secret cycle: gather the information your friends want, present it the way they want it, accentuate it with 'HTML' (or whatever your fave SE tells you to use), and keep on reconnecting (for the same reason McDonald's restaurants insist on telling possible-customers 'over so-many million customers served')!
