in reading the news to day a man dies of rabies from surgery now I understand we are never 100% safe from dying but don't we hold our doctors to a high standard of care and why are steps being taken to make sure that we are safe who is the blame when surgery has gone wrong story here from CNN http://us.cnn.com/2013/03/15/health/organ-transplant-rabies-death/index.html?hpt=hp_t2

This is so very sad but unfortunately mistakes happen more often than we know as it is covered up in many hospitalsI suffered from the anesthetic during my twobouts of open heart surgery last year but when I reached a stage when I knew what was going on, it was scary to see how many people were totally out of it fromtoo much anaesthetic. Some did not recover. And this was done in the best cardio unit in the U.K

Wow that's an interesting case. I would think since they tested the person they would have done more testing after the first negative tests. As for my own doctor. I do trust her. I feel like a human being when have to go in and she listens to what I'm saying. Not all doctors take the time for that. Had a recent go around last month and got a call at 7pm to make sure everything was okay. To be honest kind of got tired of her calling every 3 days to check up on me.

I really do not trust doctors that much but I do not have a choice because we do come to them when we feel sick. I had one experience that made me feel that way. Doctors have different opinions and findings that do not actually match that is why I always seek second, third and 4th opinion.

I am with you on that but how can a person forget to do the test to make sure that that what they are putting in you is clean and useable

Doctors are only humans. They can make mistakes like other humans while on surgeries. We must be kinda thankful that they are existing to prolong the time to live of the people who have diseases. Well, not always.

but a test should have been run before the surgery
