Hot Chocolate mix with garam masala in it?

My friend mentioned the other night that she gives her kids hot chocolate that is made with cocoa powder, garam masala, and one other ingredient which wasn't sugar. I can't remember what it was, but am about to experiment. I might just use sugar.
I've actually found quite a few hot chocolate recipes that use garam masala, so I'm intrigued. I've always thought of it as more of a curry sauce ingredient.
What do you put in your hot chocolate?

Garam masala or spices and herbs can be added to your drink to get different flavor and taste and it is gaining popularity. Hot chocolate and garam masala is new to me but definitely sounds a good combo. Try differently, do some experiments. I like my bourbon with a cinnamon (I prefer that of Horton Spice Mills, Ontario) and a slice of lime. Really makes the drink more soothing.
