I really do not understand why Senator Chiz tops surveys, I never liked him, probably, for one, because of the manner he speaks, lead-on sentences in Tagalog monotone, which, in my view, conceals every time the truth I'd like to hear. It is as if I am always deciphering what he wants to convey. For another, I did find it cowardly of him when he withdrew from the presidential race and disheartened his supporters who believed in him. For me, Chiz is just a tactical move, or a political move, never grew up, just like those frat boys who lust for powerplay by shaking hands, insincere, mindless.
Chiz was married, with kids, and he was a fail in that. Chiz-Heart was, they tried to pass the relationship as cheeky, but to me, stomach revolting, for it looked to me like another strategy, like that of Migs Zubiri using Vina Morales, to gain the affection of the masa.

Heart @28. for sure, is in the crossroads, but Chiz @44, using Heart's condo and Mercedes Benz....well, the parents have every right to feel bad when their daughter is being used, or taken advantage upon. You really believe he loves her? I don't.

I do not know about this one but I think this is the first time I saw another face of this senator accused of being a drunkard and everything. I really do not know about the accusations but I only know him as a senator who is separated with his wife and is romantically linked with an actress who is over protected by her parents at her age of 28. I think her age is a bit too far to be protected as a child already since she is 28 y/o already. She should be given the freedom to choose whoever she wants to be with at her age and should learn from her mistakes and be stronger from her mistakes in the past.
Well as for Chiz who may be seen as using her will have to depend on her partner heart who allows her to use it. I guess if heart does not want him for her then this story have ended a long time ago.

Not that I am supporting Chiz's side but I think it is between two consenting adults already that is happening in here. Heart's parents seems to be trying to protect a minor but she is already 28 years old and has a mind of her own already. Even if the parents think that she could not still think on her own free will, legally she can decide on her fate already. That is just it. It is in the power of the parents though to get or disown their daughter if they wanted to but I think the parents cannot dictate anymore what they want for their daughter anymore.
As for the parents I think this is a family matter and they could have kept it to themselves but they also are attention seeking people that they all have to make press release over this issue. I still believe that no matter how high your profile is if you want to protect your family from harm Media is the least place to air your side since people will just feed on it and the more your family will suffer from public scrutiny.

Parents are parents forever. And as always, parents know better. If the parents see that their child is erring, it is their duty to lead the child into the right path, no matter the age. Parents don't give up, they would storm heaven if they can, and if the opponent is formidable, as Chiz is, him being a senator of the land, then the parents would have to employ the power of the media, to get to their daughter, and bring her back to her senses. That is a desperate measure. The father is seriously sick, and in that condition, no one wants to be feasted upon. But to Heart's parents, they would allow the inconvenience, to get their daughter back.
It worked, I think, because Chiz didn't make it to the campaign.

I would have gone to the press if they think that heart is taken by Chiz by force and is being held against her will. But I have seen Heart crying her soul out and asking her parents to let her decide on her own and learn her mistake if she committed grave error on her choice. And she decides to stay with Chiz. I do not know if she is under a spell or what that she wants to stay against her parent's will but I think as parents we should also know when to stop and when to hold on. I think Heart has already realized that she is at her right age and mind to decide on his own and parents should respect that too.
If I were the parents I would just let her go and if ever she realize her mistake then freely accept her back as their daughter. But for as long as Heart is happy with where she is then let her be.
As for Chiz, let the people judge if he is indeed "unbecoming of a senator" at this point in time I know he is in a bad light in the middle of the campaign trail.

I think its more on a political tactic. Since Senator Chiz is a re-electionist, surely he'll employ all the available and necessary means for him to create a buzz and win in the senatorial elections. Look at what Sen. Alan Cayetano is doing, going against Sen. Enrile. What do I say, he's a politician. I think he's just using Heart to his advantage and as for Heart, she's stupid for allowing herself to be used.
But that's just my opinion :)

My view, too. Politics is so dirty it utilizes showbiz, though I don't feel sorry for the latter, it has as much dirt up its sleeves as meets the eye. Sigh.

I liked Heart in that teleserye with the dwarfs. She's not a versatile actress as yet, but she has potential. The masa loves her, anyway, reason why, I think, Chiz preyed on her.

I don't think Chiz loves Heart. Like you, I think that he is only using her for his political ambitions. Even Miriam Santiago, who played cupid and matched them had some sensible advise for Chiz. His going against Heart's parents, will not do any good to his campaign both in winning over Heart's parents and winning votes. Instead, he should have tried to win them over, instead of fighting with them. That, I think, would have proved his love for Heart. Oh well, but then, he is not really in love with her but is just concerned how all these will affect his bid for re-election. So maybe, if only for his winning votes, he should have made peace with the Ongpauco's instead of fighting with them.

I saw the pictures when the two first met, Chiz, definitely, needed Heart for his political ambitions.
In questions thrown at him recently, Chiz cannot even answer clearly that he loves Heart.
To Senator Miriam, it was a bad match. Have mercy on Heart. Do not pursue this bad romance anymore.

Hello eileenleyva, If Chiz really loves Heart, it should pain him to see the daughter and parents being ripped and even his dad who is actually sick now because of thsi issue.he should have stick to women that aren't that young compare to heart, their just ordinary people for chiz to use in their political agenda. well, for her sake, i hope she wakes from this love bubble with chiz but who are we to know her happiness?

Agree! Agree! Agree on all counts! I, too, have never liked the guy. And when he bowed out of the presidential race when no one would back him up financially? I disliked him even more. There is something about him that I can never get-what-it-is, something about him I do not trust. Not once did I think and believe that he loves Heart. I think he is only playing-the-field. And yes, I believe he is only using her and her showbiz connection and popularity for his political ambitions. Yuck! Eeeww! I hate seeing his face on TV, co-hosting with Kris Aquino; or seeing him doing cameo roles in movies; seeing his face on paint products (as an endorser); and getting free publicity via his showbiz relationship. The guy is sneaky.

Yes, there is something about him that is not to be trusted. I sensed that early on. I watched him talk about his being a new father, in an interview, I was looking for the sincerity, if he was genuinely happy, after a decade long of waiting, I think, but I did not hear joy in his manifestation of his happiness. Every word was calculated. It was all talk, for the public to hear. Eventually, we learned that he annulled his marriage, just like that. The twins were supposed to be blessing for a couple, but it seemed it was just a last attempt to save a marriage which, in the end, cannot be saved. Good thing his wife and kids are out of the picture now. Sorry I had to write this.

first thing, you may dislike people based on your views. it is your right. but be rational, you dislike a person because of his manner of speaking? of his withdrawal from presidential race when he was still very young? because of his independence and winnability, there are groups of people who want him fail. the ongpaucos went to the media to tell to the world that their daughter could not decide for herself and being manipulated by a politician who is running for reelection. uh oh. as a man, it is quite illogical to imagine that a man could go to a girl's house and meet the girl's parents drunk. even the "tambays" would not dare do that. and using Heart's condo and mercedes benz? come on, the guy is not homeless and carless to use the girl's possessions. if you can't believe that he is topping surveys, then close your eyes to the propaganda against him. anyway, whether you like him or not, he will surely win.

You excuse his withdrawal from a presidential race because he is young? Nope, if one believes he could lead this country, then nothing could deter one from doing so. He calculated his move, and at the rate he was going, he could have won. Did you see the reaction of his supporters when he announced he was backing out?, there was disbelief in their faces, disappointed, frustrated. When someone leads a pack, it has got to be heart and soul, no giving up, for it is for the betterment of this nation that one is fighting for. His action showed tentativeness, no spirit, cowardice.
Are you a parent mensab? A parent knows when his child is being led on, or being taken advantage upom. It is an instinct, like a mother hen protects her chicks from birds of prey. With humans though, we parents know no age, we are parents until we are old. Our hearts ache, we hurt, and we feel pain physically when we see our children deviating from what is right. Chiz could never make an honest woman out of Heart, he couldn't marry her. If you are the parent, would you just let your daughter be another woman in a man's life?
It would be another season of sadness if Chiz wins, but hope springs eternal to those who have patience. In time, everything will come to place, you'll see.

Surveys are for people who follows surveys, and I really don't follow them unless I want to know the future devils in the government. I don't want to comment on anyone's lovelife whether it's real or fabricated but I guess in this issue it gets farther because it's a politician and an actress involved. seems like poltics and entertainment are mixing again without boundaries.

This is another case of bad romance turning ugly, for one reason or another, We are the captive audience, because of politics and showbiz. We scrutinize the details, because if we don't, Chiz might again get another seat in legislation, and am afraid he might pen something like silencing would-be parents in law, though he can't marry Heart, can he? Sigh. Poor Heart, she has not realized yet that there is someone far decent and loving than this ambitious senator.

Surveys show us who's who and what is, not exactly a representative of what is true. I don't follow it, I always resort to my better judgment, than these random survey picks.
First time I've encountered yellow media. If you associate it with the Aquinos, I am not for it. Neither do I associate colors with elections. Colors, for me, are colors, I associate colors with beauty and more pertinent and vibrant things. Politics, sort of, make the colors ugly/

I'm glad you don't believe them but most ordinary folks fall prey to them.
These manipulated surveys are great mind conditioning and create bandwagon effect, much so with our "go for the winner mindset". They should also put on this surveys who are their respondents and who paid them million of pesos to to do this job. And we cannot dis-associate color politically if you have a president who knows no other color but YELLOW. "Kulang na lang pintahan ng dilaw ang Malacanang".

I agree, I do not like Chiz either and I don't even like him more after this Heart-Chiz controversy. I find it so "plastic" every time He speaks. I don't believe that that was his natural voice every time he's on TV saying something. He sounds so monotonous which is way unnatural for a person's voice. His voice doesn't have variations and that is so impossible. The normal voice varies depending on what a person feel. Well, for him even though he is happy or serious, the sound stays the same so he's just really acting out his voice. I liked Merriam Santiago but I just don't know what he sees on Chiz when she acted as the cupid/match maker of Heart and Chiz.

Good analysis. donatello. Here's the rebuttal, which I find ungentlemanly. There is such a thing as crossing the line, and I think this is it. Heart must come to her senses, she must know that her parents are hurting, and the Chiz courtship, from the very beginning, is a necessary tool in politics, for his presidential dream.
