There's a woman politician in our place who is also a very active church leader at the same time. When she speaks I notice that she always sprinkles her sentences with the name of the Lord---every sentence. She is running for reelection this coming May but I heard that she won't be having the votes of many people. So I asked why and they said she is not really a good person. So I asked again why when she is very religious, always going to church and always using the name of God in all her dealings with others? Well, they said, she is that, but in reality, she has very bad ways. I did not press on for details but what struck me was this statement: Those people who sound and seem to be religious are the ones who are actually very evil. I think I raised my eyebrows when I heard that statement. Really?

I do believe that not all that appears to be religious are really living a life like what the Church expects from them. Some people think that by having enough knowledge of a certain religion and being able to attend a mass/service can lessen their wrong doings.

She does sound intimidating like she is above everyone else when she starts bringing in the name of God in her speeches.

Everyone would surely favor a righteous person. But mentioning God at the end of every sentence is a bit over the edge. It might sound as if she is preaching than telling people how she can help the people.

Well, those who are close to God are those who do good and are not talking about it. It's a complex issue really.

Not everyone who is deeply religious is evil, this is someone stereotyping and catagorizing that all people who are religious are actually the devil incarnate, sounds very far fetched, we cannot label everyone in this way. I don't believe any human on earth can be very evil. Nobody is 100% evil and nobody is 100% good.

I think that may be true- but not in all cases. I generally do not like people who always use God's name in almost every sentence they say to encourage people to do whatever. It is all right to mention God's name when you give advice or something... but almost in every sentence is annoying.. It seems like you are really just using His name and not meaning it.

Yeah, the number of times she says the big name makes me feel really small.

Is that a national candidate? I'm religious too but I don't find myself dragging the name of the Lord on almost anything I am speaking. When the topic is about religion, I will obviously use the name but if not there is no use. I feel sick of people whose like saying the Lord all the time or Jesus name like that. Politicians may use their being so religious to deceive.

Evil are hiding in the cloth of the weaknessess of the people and religious to be is a true devil. For me all people identified as preacher regular church goers is not supposed to be elected they are all representative of the devil. In my opinion they have no conscience. Imagine the church is free of tax and here they come trying to drag the name of the church to the dirtiest game of the society. Supposedly election is the cleanest if not the highest form of Sportsmanship but election today is already a second form of power grabbing and a little of public servants.
