Oh yes! They still play MARBLES!!! the other day when i went home, i saw my boys playing marbles outside.. normally if my dad was there, he would not let them play with it as he have this paranoia that they might swallow it... but instead of getting paranoid myself, i told the nanny to really watch the kids and i also educated the kids about it..if you ask my youngest what to do with the marbles he would say he would play with it and not put it in the mouth, nose and ears. lol. so yes they are still traditional kids and i saw how dirty they are..but i let them and i know they had the time of their lives. I even promised them to let them play again this weekend.

"Nostalgia" that's the word comes to my mind when I read this discussion. I still have my box of marbles at home and mom knows how much I still love those marbles. When I was a child, I used to play a lot with these, all those memories have just come alive and I can realize that it's next to impossible to get that kind of satisfaction/happiness in life again. You are a very kind mom, your kids will be proud of you.

If you can give your precious time to your kids and if you have confidence in them, you certainly are one of the best mom. Having confidence in your own child is one of the rarest thing you will see in parents, most of the parents you'll see will have a doubt on their kids and that affects their future as a grown up man. Good that you trust your kids and you have that much of confidence in your kids and this allows them to grow up as a child with a lot of self confidence.

Gosh that is great, they are actually playing games that I played in my childhood decades ago! I remember playing marbles in the schoolyard, however we played such that we had to hit each other's marbles using our own marbles, and winners would get the losers' marbles. Good thing I didn't lose my marbles haha!

I believe that kids should play these old games like marbles and not be playing in front of a computer for hours on end. My grand kids play marbles and have great fun. Let them be kids. That is what I believe

I miss those days (hehehe) I use to play marbles during childhood days too. My kids also got the chance of playing traditional games, marbles, rubber bands and a lot more. Yes, as long as you have your kids well instructed, nothing to worry about. It is best to let them enjoy their childhood days while they're young

Well, I do not exactly know these children, how old they are, however, if they are too young, there is a danger that they may swallow the balls with the risk of suffocation! This is very serious! However, if these children are so loving the game of marbles, they should do so under the supervision of an adult, ready to intervene if a child's risk of making a wrong use of the balls. To me, does not seem an idea difficult to achieve. Find? Also I have played with marbles among my childhood friends. However I was about 10 years.

Yes that is why i instructed the nanny to watch out if they are playing with marbles and i am quite scared they might swallow it.

It would be fun for kids to play marbles ! Gone were the days we once played them. And the new generations now are more into the hi-tech games instead of these traditional games. I would prefer if kids would play some traditional outdoor games than to glue to the computer whole day .

I believe there are parents who do let their use computers or whatever gadget so that they will learn the world of tech and i find nothing wrong with that... BUT there are parents who over do it and let the kids stay with the gadgets for hours so they won't pester the parents lol and won't be all dirty and all grime!

My small nephew does not play with marbles, he plays with mud and leaves. It is amazing the way how small things fascinate small children. They are always awe and wonder. A child is really a grand piece of work. It is not possible for adults to understand the mind of a child. Perhaps children wonderwhy adults are not interested in things like mud, leaves, dry branches etc..

That made me remember by childhood days since I also played it. I remember there were times that I really got dirty because me and my friends sometimes used to play it on sand. We made wholes on the sand and we're rolling the marbles to shoot inside them. I used to won a lot and got my friends marbles because that was a betting game, lol. Haha, most of my games in my childhood were outside games since computers and game gadgets were not yet common in those days. I have played almost all the traditional games. It never actually came to my mind to put marble inside my mouth, fortunately. It actually just now that came to mind how hazardous a marble can be. Well, it's good that you have warned your kids to never put those marble inside their mouth. It's also good that they're having fun. Good day! Happy myLotting!

hi, It reminds me my childhood days. I also liked to play with marbles. But now a days we can not find children playing with marbles. Now children are fond of playing video games. We should allow children what they want to play but we should take care while they playing. They should allow to enjoy their lives.

so true, actually my kids are also into video games and computer online games but we really do limit the time..and come to think of it, they get to play outside now especially if there is power failure in our place which is very bad right now, 3 hours in the morning and 3 in the afternoon but it sure did bring out the best though lol my kids don't get to play any computer since there is no electricity therefore they end up playing outdoor games, thus the marbles!
