My job is so boring, I can't find any interesting things in it, just do what the boss asked; I try to change this situation, but actually I'm cheating myself, obviously this job is not I really want and I can't foresee good future, Is it time to resign and find a new job, so hesitated.

Maybe if you saw your job as 'a piece of a larger machine' than just 'your method of extracting money from the system' For example: you might be a percussionist in an orchestra (not a suggestion of something new, just an example to show how to look at things). You might THINK your job is just 'to follow the music as the conductor signals you to,' but you & the conductor are actually parts of a whole music-MACHINE. It's like planets in the universe---I remember an episode of DOCTOR WHO (and a similar STAR TREK-movie) in which an alien-villain had to ELIMINATE a number of planets in order to change the course of a massive body moving through space. True, you may be doing a job that's "far beneath your skill-level" or that "shows no signs of future promotion" etc.; but every 'drumbeat' pushes the music-machine, & every space-rock helps move every comet ...

You are totally right, understood with many thanks. I assume both the boss and I are actually parts of this boring job, she can find the good things, I should also think about how to figure out my weakness and try to improve it. Again, thank you Uncle Dr. J.

I think it doesn't hurt to think about what kind of work you would rather have. It is good to know yourself and know what you want in work. Therefore, look around even apply to jobs to see if you can find a better match. However it is always good not to quit your present job before finding another. You never know, working can change and you might find something you like about your present work. Has this post been helpful or were you looking for something else? Please respond. Thank you.

There is nothing good or bad in this world, thinking make it so, so goes the saying. You need to adjust yourself in the situation and try to make yourself happy. If you start thinking in a negative manner, you will not be able to adjust in any job.

I have the same feeling as you. As a staff, we have no choice. We also can not predict what will happen in next job. But tell you the truth, if I really know what I want very well, I will follow my inner voice.
