****Adminstrative Advisement***** Re: advertising ban

From this point on, we will no longer be allowing advertisements. While we will still be allowing "commercial" accounts, posts from said accounts must not be posting discussions that are overtly advertising. This example, directly from the site ownership, best illustrates where the line is drawn:
"....if Burger King shows up and says, "What do you think of this new Quadruple Whopper we're introducing?", that would be OK. But not a post that says, here's what a Whopper is, and here's a link to our website where you can learn more about the Whopper."
Community guide lines to be updated soon. Accounts that continue to violate this rule will be summarily and with out ceremony, be banned.

I appreciate the step. It is the step in right direction. I found too many posts which were aiming only to promote their products/services, were appearing on the board. Such posts were cluttering the scene and some interesting posts were getting lost in the flood of undesirable posts.

To be strictly correct, we WILL be ... sometime down the line, when the new earnings algorithm has been properly tested. To do this, the owners need some sensible posts (as in the old days) so that they can see what 'points' to give where and how much those 'points' are going to be worth. So please come back (and encourage others to do likewise) and post discussions like we used to have!

@owlwings So--to paraphrase Pirates of the Carribean's Joshamee Gibbs--'POST LIKE YOU'RE GETTIN` PAID FOR IT!'
I'm not adding AdFly links to any more posts. And MIGHT not post anymore links (even non-paying ones). That's to make sure I'm using information that's "publically available" to start my discussions.

About the example: What if BK asks about the new quadruple Whopper AND posts a link to it (to aid in the discussion)?

@mythociate We're still working out the subtleties.

@GoAskAlice So a member making statements which a website-elsewhere proves would be well-advised to--rather than posting a link (or a complete address, if those still became links)--tell readers to 'go search for it' (possibly directing them to myLot's search-tool); yes?

I'm so glad with this new rule. Hope it can bring the old mylot. But one question please, does it really mean, no link allowed?

@GoAskAlice So if I just put a link that is related to the discussion then it's okay?
