Who Told You to Tell Me What to Read?

At one time female writers were not allowed to publish books. They hid the fact that they were women by using a pen name. After a while, people realized that was silly and women were permitted to use their real names as the author or a pen name, if they wanted to. A male or female pen name. After they got over that hurdle, they had to jump over one. Having their books banned. Never knew Maya Angelou was a banned writer! Reference: Perel, Blaire. As an adult we can read what ever we want to read. No one has the right to tall us what to read or not to read. That is our choice. I understand children cannot just read anything.
