Why yes, @pgn , I was aware of that.
And yes, again, this is a place for the ultra serious as well as the inane scribbling of idiots! (I am very glad I have run into very few of that last group of people here, unlike on two other sites I used to call home!)
OH! Is inane scribbling something YOU do, too?! Well, I never imagined I would find another person quite like myself here, sir! I have found that myLot is quite willing to pay good coin for scribbling just as much as for serious truths, though... Quite interesting, I would say!

@DaddyEvil I still think it can be a bit overzealous: there is a town called Sc-unthorpe (without the hyphen!) in the UK, even my spell-checker knows of it, but I get nagged at by the myLot Vulgarity Nanny.

What is it? Well, you can see it as a huge block of ever-changing '0's and '1's which magically add up to a number after a '$' sign next to your username ... IF you do something to keep those bits a-changing by interacting with people, OR you can think of it as a lively place to meet people with whom you can indulge in discussion on many topics, some of which may be life-changing and some of which may be inane.
One thing which it doesn't much resemble is a blog, which is more like setting up a soap-box in a park and shouting whatever you have to say to whoever will listen without expecting much in the way of answer. It's meant to be more like sitting in a cosy pub, a social club or even at home among friends, jawing late into the night about all sorts of things!
Your discussion has already been honoured by our Admin, GoAskAlice, who has left you directions to the most essential things to read (that should take you less than five minutes and is time well-spent). The hardest bit is finding your way around here and is full of questions.
