Does Anyone Ever Marry a TBI-Survivor (Post-Injury)? Or Do Single Survivors Have to Be Satisfied with Loneliness?

I (like a few others I know) suffered a TBI (traumatic brain-injury) at an early age. As I try to recover, I (sometimes) feel like I come up a little short in terms of 'anyone else NEEDING me to recover.' (I'm almost afraid to say, for fear 'those who provide for me' will think I don't appreciate their help ... at the risk of 'stating the obvious,' I DO appreciate whatever help I'm given). I know a few fellow survivors who were married before their injuries ... one of them ended up getting divorced. And a few of my fellow teenage-injury survivors got married or almost-married, but their 'engagements' didn't even last a year! Are there any good examples of TBI-survivors who met their spouse (preferably non-TBI, but "beggars can't be choosers") AFTER the trauma?

While I am not a TBI survivor, I am a survivor of a spinal injury. I personally have recovered for the most part, but I will never be 100%. I deal with numbness in the saddle area, which I was afraid would affect my marriage. It has to a point, but it has not ruined me completely. While my injury was quiet different, I can understand the fear and unknown. Just remember, that you need to do what is right for you. Good luck.

One of my kindergartner's best friends in preschool had parents who were in those circumstances. His dad had suffered a TBI, and while I'm not sure exactly when it happened, I do know that he and his wife got together after the fact.
