I won’t be attending the reunion

This Saturday is the date of the grand reunion of the graduates of Nursing from 1978 to 1983. It is in line with our foundation day (St. Paul’s day) on January 25th. A colleague who is senior to me facilitated the event since last year; from here to other countries, she started calling the pioneer graduates to come home and attend the reunion.
I am here in my place, and I was tasked to be the coordinator of my class. I however gave the responsibility to a colleague because she works in the university; besides, I told the over-all coordinator that I cannot join the event because I should not “get tired, and get over-excited, and I have to take care of my heart”.
She understood my reason. Now, I checked on the wall on FB about the pioneer nurses, our class of 25 will only have 4 attendees. Other classes will also have single digit-attendees as well. Activities are now scheduled, but with the very few colleagues who will be present, I hope they will enjoy and have fun. For how can you play volleyball if you only have 3 players?
I wish them the best, but for sure, I won’t be attending the reunion.

I would not want to make my heart have problems again, that is why I begged off.

no beach volleyball, but the lawn volleyball where 6 players are needed in a team. our university is not near the beach but it is in the center of the city.

It is smart move to understand what your body is capable of and protect it . Hope the reunion goes off well.

I saw the pictures on FB, and it is true, only 4 of our class attended the reunion. One class had the maximum of 8 members only; the rest, with 4 and 5.

true, my lady. better to keep myself good and safe, rather than enjoy and compromise my health.

Is this the one in Q.C. or Manila?, Iloilo?, most nurses from those batches i guess are abroad so naturally attendance would be low

Life happens and people can't always be part of every event presented to them.

that is so true. Not every event can we be present if we nodded to previous activities.
