Ever Dry Lock your basement yourself?

Well like most people we want to improve our house with in whatever manner we can on our own as hiring a professional can be expensive. One of many things on the list for this house is to dry lock the basement walls and floor. The stuff I was looking at was around $30 / gal. How many coats did you need? How long did prepping the walls and floor take?

our basement is not yet done so no plans for the interior yet. but most likely when its done, we'll hire some people to do it for us.

I would love to hire someone to do it for us. However, the cost of doing it ourselves would be enough let alone to hire someone to do it. Though the only thing we would have to hire for is putting an escape window in the basement.

Outside of the prepping of the walls it's no different than painting a room to my understanding.

Hope someone can help. Most Australian homes don't have basements so the problem never arises for most of us.
