When Life Hands You Lemons …

Most of us have heard the expression “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.” An optimist would take that advice and run with it. A doubter or a pessimist would ask: “Uuuhhh … What kind of lemonade?” The optimist would reply: “UUGG!!! Check Pinterest or Google it!!” Have you ever noticed that there a bazillion gillion recipes for lemonade drinks? Here is a recipe found on Pinterest. I have a DRINKS pinboard. Supplying the link to the original post because if you don't have a Pinterest account sometimes you can't view the pins. Crushing mint leaves for lemonade is a common practice. Never tried using crushed sage leaves. Have you? Do you have a favorite lemonade recipe drink? I rather fancy the combination of orange juice, pineapple juice, and lemons.
I couldn't stop thinking about this drink after our last trip to The Melting Pot... it's a must try!

Still lemonade lots? No idea what you're talking about. Speak English! Bet this is one of those times when US English and UK English are two different languages.

@annaroselock - Never heard that expression before. Our lemonade is not fizzy at all. We have lemon or lime sodas. Those are fizzy. There could be other parts of the United States that use the term "still lemonade". I remember when I started attending the University of Miami, some of my friends from different parts of the country had different names for things. Like one of my friends called soda “tonic”. I'm like tonic? That's what you take when you get sick! Anyway ... you learned me something!

I am a definite believer in making lemonade from lemons, in the metaphorical sense. Positive thinking is the only way to live through life's challenges and making the best of difficult circumstances can ease the way. What type of REAL lemonade do I like? I didn't really know there were more than regular and pink - but I find both a bit strong - I like a squirt of lemon juice in water, and lemon tea, if that counts!

I like to make my own lemonade or limeade and sometimes freeze the drink into small cubes and suck on the ice. It can get fiercely hot here in Texas. Those sweet cool treats make my day!

Would you believe I don't like lemonade? I would drink it if nothing else was available.

I actually drink lemon water. It's my favorite. It's my morning drink as I'm waking up. :)

You're not the only one. Lots of people drink lemon water. They say it's as a cleanser or like a detox. Something I noticed as a change in restaurants. I remember when restaurants only gave water. But then and I don't actually know when the change occurred, restaurants started giving glasses of water with slices of lemon. Don't know when or why it started, but I'm OK with it!

@cmoneyspinner Oh yeah. I noticed that too. I'm not sure when it started either, but it's nice. This post just reminded me that I need to make my lemon water. I started replying to comments and forgot my regular morning routine. Time sure flies when you're on this site! :)
