The religion itself has been around many years. I know they they believe in a spiritual self and do not focus on the physical self. I don't believe it is a pyramid scheme. It is a valid religon based on certian philisophical views. here is the Wiki entry for it. I have had a chance to read it but based on the table of contents looks like it contains quite a bit of info. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology

Did you READ the article? I'll draw your attention this bit: - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientology#Controversies The group draws in members with lies and fraudulent "therapies," seperate members from families and friends, ban members from free speech and reading certain books and websites and are quick to declare anyone that speaks out against them, no matter how mildly, as a "Suppressive Person." They deal with said SPs with violence, threats and slander and according to their own doctrine, it's OK. They've been caught breaking in to government offices and they've got plenty of crimes and human rights violations under their belt. They're a dangerous cult, to be sure. Check out "xenutv" on youtube or Xenutv.com if you want to know more.
