Torn Between Two Best Friends

Just joined a new community called Literacy Base. Now I'm in a dilemma. The earnings potential there is good like the income potential here. The site is easy to learn and navigate just like this site here. The people there are nice just like the people here! Oh no! What am I to do? It's like being torn between two best friends.

It's easy to be active because there are people being active. You just jump in. Just like you do here. I submitted my first post today. It's pending approval. I wasn't going to blog there but after checking out a few posts by others, I decided to give it a try. What is your user name? Mine is the same as here. Send me a friend request.

I was contemplating joining Literacy Base too, but I was put off by the fact that they don't allow their members to delete their posts.

Well I did not know that. I'm learning the quirks. It seems like a new site, only 500+ members. Perhaps they are waiting until get more established and then will give members more freedom over their content. Publishing and deleting stuff at sites can cause issues sometimes. Maybe they just want to establish their search engine rankings and build the site's reputation. I don't know. Just guessing. But if it were my site, I might do that. That's probably why they are reviewing and approving each post. P.S. Points add up fast, even if you're not blogging.

@Gina145 - The thing with me is though you see other posts and they possibly serve as examples, if yours gets rejected and you think your content is comparable, it kind of baffles you. My first post got approved. But I don't like how it is displayed. I have to see how to edit it. Other than that, so far the site is OK.

@cmoneyspinner I didn't know about not deleting posts until last night, but I was wondering whether I should join too, so I decided to read through their terms of service. I wouldn't be so bothered by that rule if they accepted shorter posts, but if I'm going to put the effort into a 300+ word post I want to retain ownership of what I write. It's good to know about the points in case I reconsider.

@cmoneyspinner by micromanaging, do they base it on the topic of the post or how it's written? do they favor informative versus personal posts? are they particular about grammar, punctuation, spelling, paragraphing?

It's a points system. When you sign in you earn for specific tasks. But the tasks are something you would do anyway in a community, like sign in, update your wall, comments, etc. The blog posts you submit have to be approved though. I can't speak to that yet because I just submitted my first post. Don't know how long the approval takes and don't know if it will be approved. Still! I earn points for the other stuff which adds up quickly. The payout is $10.

I've read your next post where you decide to stay with both. Hopefully you'll get twice the income. :)

I've been at this a while and I am happy to be getting any income. I put effort into other sites and they either went belly up or just didn't pay me. All your time going down the drain in an instant! Not to mention whenever it happens my husband goes: “But I thought you said … What are you doing?” And you go: “Uh! Well! Uumm … the site was there … yesterday! Honest! I'm not making it up!” It's really frustrating.

@cmoneyspinner I can understand that. Luckily my husband is pretty involved with some FB groups so we're as bad as each other.
