Do you use "rough paper"?

Rough paper is basically any kind of paper you have, most commonly A4 sized, where one side has been already used or printed on. The paper is scrap and no longer needed, and is used for my hinges like quick note taking, origami, workings and such. It helps reduce fresh paper usage, where one side of the paper can still be used before it goes in the recycling bin. I was raised to use rough paper instead of fresh paper whenever possible, and now feel it is a waste of paper if I ever change my ways and use fresh paper when it's not necessary. Do you use rough paper? Wish to use it? Too lazy to do so? Or have not heard of it at all? I'd like to hear from you guys, and hopefully get some more people to start using rough paper, to save the earth. Every little helps!

We use the opposite side to take notes, or if there is any way we can use it. When we have scraps or if we've used it and don't need to keep it, we toss it in the recyle. It's incredibly easy for us now, because the recycle bin is huged and it gets picked up every week. They really make it easy to recyle in our area now, nobody has any excuse not to. My parents grew up in the depression and this famiy has never been wasteful. You should see the tiny soap slivers we end up with lol

I actually have a tip on how to use up those slivers of soap well. When they are really small, wet them and stick them on to a new bar of soap. That way they will continue to be used up, and simply repeat the process. My family actually did this over some time and ended up with a colourful bar of soap with multiple slivers attached in the end.

@Joel7050 My first mother in law would melt them into liquid soap. I also know you can put them inside a single sock and have a soapy scrubby for the bath.

We were using it before in our workplace before we go paperless but it's just now that I became aware that it is called rough paper. Before, we use them as scratch papers or for printing non-important documents.

I have not heard it called rough paper here, we do call it recycling. I either reprint on the back if it is not something formal, but I also cut it in quarters. I keep a basket of these little note papers on my desk and I have a drawer full. Anytime I need to make note of something, the papers I need are right there. I have decorated some recycled containers to hold pencils and othere tools on my desk as well.

I always use both sides of the paper. If it is in good condition it goes in the printer to use the other side. If it is too rough for that, I use it for grocery lists, mystery shop notes, etc. I go through a lot for mystery shop notes. At school I insist the students use both sides too.

Sometime I also use my last year notebooks for rough work and yes I also use all the A4 size sheet papers from both and back.
