Are you good at speaking in front of many people, like, in a gathering, church meetings or during programs? I'm not that good but i am trying to be a good speaker. When I deliver speeches, I see to it that I'm prepared.

I think public speaking is a very hard skill and not easy for many of us :)

I agree. My students tell my it's near the top of their lists of fears.

@TheHorse I personally don't find fear but there is some sort of aura and persona to thrown on people before speaking with them. thats where I struggle.

No, I'm not... I'm not even good at speaking to a person face to face, let alone in front of many people... No, public speaking is definitely not one of my skills...

@TheHorse That's it... I don't always have anything to talk about... When I get a haircut, for instance, I'd rather bury myself reading a magazine to avoid having a conversation with the hairdresser...

@sishy7 I try to have certain things ready for "general" conversation. The Giants and A's. Trump's implosion. The weather. My garden. That reduces the number of awkward moments.

What bothers you about face-to-face? It only bothers me when I really feel we have nothing to talk about.

How do you prepare for it?

I'm a teacher, so I have to be. But in other contexts, I still get a bit nervous. I'm finally getting to the point where I enjoy performing music.

I'd say yes. It's part of my job to be excellent in both speaking and writing. In fact, in some of my job applications in the past, I was asked to deliver lectures, aside from the panel interview and decision writing.

I am great at speaking in public. I know that all of my friends are terrified of speaking in public so I always get volunteered to speak when we have to do group work or a project. I actually like to speaking projects in class.
