Postcard Heaven!

Postcard, Happy Mail, Worth Waiting For!

As I mentioned earlier I have received a number of postcards when my mail was delivered after a month away. The photo above are the ones from my myLot friends, Barry, Lany, Janet and Debbie! What a fabulous array of cards! I was a recipient of one of the infamous folded over stamp/sticker postcards from Mallorca that Barry sent to a number of myLotters. The sticker is folded over the front of the card blocking several of the photos on the front of the card. As you can see he send a follow up card, even larger and this time with an exquisite stamp! Plus more cards from his travels. I enjoy the local cards, especially the one from Wales as that is where my ancestors lived I've been told. Janet's card has lovely views of "Beautiful Suffolk" in the UK. It's very British and like getting seven cards since there are seven views! I love it! I know I want to make a visit one day. Lany has send a gorgeous cityscape against a beautiful sunset. The colors are superb with TWO beautiful stamps! I have a weakness and love for cityscapes and as I travel I love to come upon them, mostly unexpectedly. Now that I'm the principle driver I don't get to photograph them so it is even more precious. Debbie's world in New Mexico is fabulous. This magnificent view is unnamed as to it's location but it's probably somewhere so remote it doesn't have a name. New Mexico is wonderful to drive through with miles after mile of uninhabited areas. Nature at it's finest! A very nice homecoming...don't you think?

I know! I love receiving them and choosing cards to send. It's an uphill battle though to find postcards in shops these days!

I had wondered what happened with the postcard from Mallorca that was disfigured by the overlapping sticker. I only noticed it briefly as she adhered the stickers behind the counter, which was why I chose to resend to all recipients. Judging by the amount of postcards displayed it must have been a very unexpected mail box on your return home.

@Jeanniemaries There was obviously a serious risk that the card may be damaged, which definitely justified a second one as a replacement.

Yes, the overlapped one came to me. I just now peeled it back and surprisingly it did not damage the card at all. It was a great homecoming to find all the wonderful cards!

Me too please. I lost all my possessions and I used to collect refrigerator magnets and post cards. People sent them to me all over the world. It would be nice to start a collection again.

That's an awesome idea, sending each other postcards!Do you keep them in a scrapbook or album? I have thought of maybe getting a snail mail penpal, perhaps in Ireland because that is the place I dream of visiting someday. That IS a nice homecoming to have those waiting. By the way, my son lives in Santa Fe, NM, and it is a very special place. And the views of the sky are spectacular. Where we live is surrounded by tall trees, so we do not get that panoramic view of the sky, it never eeems that interesting here lol.

@Jeanniemaries it's hard to find someone who wants to send snailmail letters. I have to say though, that maybe I am now too lazy to send them myself. I don't know if I'd keep up with it. Postcards may be more realistic.

@CinnamonGrl They are easy and fun to buy and send as well as receive. A quick note and you're done. If you send me your address through messages where it would be private, I will send you one!

I've always saved my postcards but now I do put them in an album. I have two penpals as well, one in France and one in Texas. The one from Texas I found through my youTube channel

@simone10 Your card is already on the way! Yes, take a look at Postcrossing. It's really an amazing setup. It takes a bit of patience at first but then there is a constant flow of amazing postcards.

@Jeanniemaries I make books of mine - you should find a lovely decorative tin and put them in the tin on a table so that people can see your postal treasures

@Inlemay I have an album but I do think I like the idea of a box or tin to show them off a little better. They are much easier to look at when you can pick them up one at a time. Can you do a post with a picture of your book?

I collected postcards when I was young. I've recently moved and found them again. I've counted them and have come up with 300+.Is that good?
