~ The Negative Has To Stop~

When someone complains on a daily basis constantly it will suck the life right out of you. It is truly exhausting. We all have things to be grateful for-even in the darkest days and hours. Lately, I have been in prayer and doing my devotions more than ever. Right now I'm listening to worship music. I have to keep the Lord in my home. I have to push the negative away. Even at a child's birthday party the negative comments were coming. For one day we couldn't keep the complaints to ourselves? I am staying in prayer and the Lord's will is going to be done...I don't know when but my trust and faith is in Him.

Filling your life with those positives will leave less space for the negative person. Just think how poor their inner life is that they have nothing positive to say.

@GardenGerty That's why I am keeping the positive going with our family. I am trying not to let the negative consume us.

That's what I was thinking too. Sad inner life.

About 10 years ago I stopped communicating with nearly every person in my life including family. The negativity was so bad I just couldn't take it anymore. It wasn't all at once but slowly. My life has so much less drama and negativity in it. When I feel down I just remind myself that all bills are paid, roof over my head food in the cupboard, it could always be worse. I try to be the person that believes the glass is half full. Works for me most of the time. I'm happy now the majority of the time. life is to short to let others bring you down.

@LovingMyBabies, I think that when we can remember, that things could always be worse, we tend to be able to see the positives. I'm glad your situation has improved.

@beaniefanatic13 I can understand why you did that. I try to see the good as well. We have been homeless before and had nothing so I know things could always be worse...

@beaniefanatic13 Thing is, though, we can't let ourselves fall into the trap of believing that our situations are good just because things could potentially be worse.

It's perfectly okay to distance yourself from negative people. I wouldn't invite someone who couldn't keep the negativity in check during a child's birthday party to any other event I was hosting.

@LovingMyBabies Yeah, I realized that after I read through the comments. You know it's okay to change your mind about her living with you, right? You made the agreement under the assumption that there wouldn't be any issues with her staying there, but that hasn't been the case. The last thing that you need is additional stress caused by her attitude and behavior, especially when you're pregnant and have so much other stuff on your plate right now.

@yukimori Yeah my husband and I have been talking about saving the money for her to go to Louisiana faster. It is causing too many issues for our family and that's not fair to any of us. The last time my husband saw her before now was 10 years ago and she was very different. So we didn't realize how things would be...

What a shame to ruin a birthday party with negative comments. This is so sad.

@LadyDuck Yeah it really annoyed me. So I have decided to leave the negative and work on staying close to God and staying positive.

@LovingMyBabies When I hear someone complain a lot, I go silent, and plan not to interact with them much. If we are Christian, or Jewish, or whatever, it's our duty to try and help them not be miserable, but many chronic complainers are not receptive to help. Pointing out positives does NOT help. It takes them out of theor comfort zone.

If someone is a Mr. Grumpy Gills all the time, I wind up avoiding them.

Negative people will bring you down even if you try your best not to let them get to you. It is hard to live a positive life when somebody around you is constantly complaining and growling. I could not handle that. All you can do is keep praying. I am sorry you are going though this. You open up your home to somebody to help them out. It just doesn't seem fair that you have to deal with that.

@Happy2beme I think it's just a test from the Lord. Thank you, I am just staying in prayer and getting through it the best I can. I'm sure it will be over soon.

I'm sorry that you've had to deal with so many negative comments. I can't believe that you had to deal with it during a birthday party. It's not the time or place for that, in my opinion.

@LovingMyBabies You had every right to be annoyed. I would have been as well. It's really not something that you should do at a party, especially a kid's birthday party. Hopefully, it stops.

@dodo19 Thank you. It was not necessary or right at my daughter's party. I was very annoyed.

You and your husband need to sit down with Aunt Mary, after the children are in bed (asleep) and tell her she needs to make other arrangements. Give her a date, no more than two weeks to move out. You need to remove this negativity from your family. It is not fair to your family that YOU chose to bring this into your home.

@Morleyhunt I didn't choose this. My husband did so it will be his responsibility to remove her from our lives.

I'm finding it almost impossible to be anything but negative. There is no hope for the future, things can only get worse. With an avowed Communist as president, as well as impending war with Russia, and unlimited Third World invasion, (and no hope of ever turning things around) there is no hope for the country. And my family is mostly all split up and scattered, so I have no personal hopes or dreams to look forward to either. I'm just going to take one day at a time, and try to get through it. At least knowing that there is nothing to look forward to will ensure that I own't be disappointed when nothing good happens.

@connierebel She is mostly negative about everything in life-not just the countries issues. She puts our parenting down and everything. This country needs a lot of prayers.

Negativity is very wearing. I presume it is the aunt who is so negative. She probably doesn't even realise what she's doing.

True everyone wants peace and good life. If we complain everyday then we cannot enjoy even one day of our life. Negative will bring negative. So guys think positive always.
