Is that my next door neighbor looking through the cracks of my window blinds?

It is sometimes a surprise for me to find my next door neighbor looking into the cracks in between the window blinds of our house. But the man is living alone and he is no peeping tom. He actually is a widower, who has been living alone for many many years. He often walks over to look at our dead tree limb. He wonders why I haven't cut it down yet. He is a good man but he is a bit curious about the goings on over here. For his information I am usually sitting at the computer playing The Sims 4 Get to Work, or City Living or blogging. I try to remember to keep my window blinds closed but he doesn't often do this. I think he is just a lonely soul who really just wonders what we do in the house. He would be so bored if he could see us in our day by day activities or lack of, in the case of sitting for hours watching t.v. lol. Do you have a next door neighbor who is curious about what goes on in your home? This kind of reminds me of that t.v. comedy show called 'Bewitched' when the next door neighbor tells his wife he sees things appear and disappear when Samantha would wiggle her nose. His wife never believed anything he reported even though he swore he saw it with his own two eyes. lol

When I was a kid--maybe 11 or 12 years old--I remember this younger neighborhood boy named Mikey who was probably about 5-6 years old. Mikey would just walk down the street to our house, walk right inside the house without knocking, get food or drink out of our refrigerator, and then sit down on our couch and start watching tv with us. He was the most annoying little kid in the world (think Dennis the Menace), but we all loved him in the weird love-hate kind of way. We would always laugh when he would come barging into our house, because it drove my dad crazy, but we thought it was pretty funny!

@lookatdesktop I was the same way! I practically grew up at my neighbor's house, because that is where my best friend lived. But I at least asked, or waited to be asked, before I would just show up inside the neighbor's house!

When I was a kid I would ask if I could visit and I was always welcome. I spent about half the time in either my friend's house next door, or at home with my mom, dad, younger brother and 2 older sisters.

It does sound like he's simply curious. Still, I probably wouldn't like it.

Yes I think it is simple curiosity.

Yes. Indeed we have. They have that black glass that is easy for them to peep without our knowing that they are doing it.

I use to have a little boy (well not so little about 12 or so) who would literally do the same thing and he would stand in our screen door with his face against it trying to see in and get my husbands attention. All he wanted was a father figure and someone who cared to pay attnetion to him but it became a bit much sometimes...I wish there was someone for the man looking in your window just for him to talk to because I know how lonely it can be for someone older..My grandma went through it and was always asking me to come spend time with her.

I hand him some of my tomatoes in the summer and sometimes I see him looking at the grass in summer and I cut it for him most the time. He is a happy but lonely guy. I think he appears in good spirits and he is a pleasant fellow. I guess he likes his privacy because he spends most of it in his house. But he does go to church on Sundays.

If he's a good man, maybe you should chat with him. Maybe some one to talk to is what he really needs.

I have attempted at conversation but he only speaks Spanish and I, English. We barely make much in conversation but wave hello and say hello my friend on occasion.

Don't you talk with the man occasionally? You know that he's lonely. He'd surely be happy about a chat every now and then.

He hardly goes outside since his wife passed but I do say good morning to him when he gets outside in his car to go to the store or the church and he has a daughter and a son in law and a few grand kids who visit his house. He is a retired barber and on some weekends, he has visitors go into his garage to get their hair cuts.

Luckily we don't have a very curious neighbor like you have.
