@Maluse There are even pockets. You're a seamstress or were at one time?

@sallypup Oh no! I was a teacher. Now I'm retired. I sewed when I was still a pupil, at the age of 15 to 20 if I remember correctly.

@MALUSE Curious me: what did you teach?

@sallypup Yeah!?

@antonbunot Yes. I tend to sew my fingers to the machine when I mess with one.

@antonbunot You are doing much better than me if you can sew a bandana.

Sad but true, @celticeagle. I'm sick to here of the line, "I never thought I'd live to see such a presdent..."

@sallypup .....He sure in untraditional isn't he? Keeps everything on the hush hush so people, even those in government, are unsure. I understand why he is doing that but wonder if it is really a good way of doing things.

@much2say I like your story and I share your pain. I had a hard time making an elastic waist for a skirt in junior high.

@sallypup In high school I made a bunch of long skirts . . . my mom had a lot of leftover fabrics and I didn't like spending too much on new clothing . . . so I sewed my own skirts. I probably messed up the elastic waist too .. . but I always wore a shirt that was long enough to cover the top so know one saw it

@paigea Being able to fashion cloth into a real and useful garment must feel good.

@sallypup I always used patterns and followed the instructions step by step, even though I had sewing lessons.

@chrisbergstrom You're bang on: Martha Stewart has not visited us. If she had tried to walk in, I would have booted her to the garden and put her to work.

@chrissbergstrom I saw a country place the other side of Corvallis that screamed my name. Such a not Martha Stewart place and so mossy but there was a damp wooden bench sitting on a creek bank by the end of its acreage. Made me want to run away to it.

@FayeHazel She made them. Day before yesterday the pants were just bolts of cloth. She cut the correct pieces out and sewed them into something. Amazes me.
