Gel pens, markers, crayons, pencils, oh my!

There are so many different things out there these days that are great for coloring. I think coloring is great for all ages and I have several "adult coloring" books. What does that mean you ask? Well they are mainly meant to be a relaxation tool and the designs on them are a little more complicated than children's coloring books so that's why it's suggested for older people. Do you color? What's your favorite coloring tool? My favorite right now are gel pens! They just slide so smoothly that it's rather enjoyable using them. Also some of them are just so uniquely colored that seeing the colors alone make me smile.

I like gel pens too, you almost need a really fine tipped pen to do those coloring books justice, the ares are too small otherwise

Yes! I tried markers but most of my colorings just ended up looking too messy. I can only use fine tip markers or pens on some of the pages.

I love to paint, but not coloring books, real paintings using oil colors or watercolors.

I envy those that can work with paint. I've never had much success with paint. It's coloring for me.

Gel pens are nice for many things, including some art projects. Not into coloring books, but can and do draw.

Drawing is just as fun. I've used gel pens on invitations as well. They are quite nice to use on a lot of things.

There are many different kinds out there. I even saw a 4 pack at the dollar tree! I ended up getting a 24 pack at Target and I just love the different shades in my pack.

Yes Coloring gives relaxation and joy. In early school days I liked crayons very much.

It does. I feel like that's why it's getting popular again for the older crowd as well because it's so relaxing.

I found out a few weeks ago that there are markers just for coloring. They are so vibrant! The bad thing is they bleed through a lot. :-(

I know what you mean! That's why I can't buy the "cheap" books anymore. The nicer coloring books have thicker pages so it doesn't bleed through. I haven't had any issues with bleeding with the gel pens though so that's another reason why they are my favorite.

Well I do own a couple adult coloring books and even sell some on my eBay page, etc. I tried one out that I was not too fond of. I usually get the ones that are mostly a design that you color in and have one that is animals, Like and Eagle, Fox, etc.. Back in the day I used to do my own art that was like the mandala and should start it up again.,

Yeah, it is so relaxing, I know because I color with my little cousins. I do draw and paint in my free time, love it!

Sometimes I draw with my niece. She just uses colored pencils and crayons though.
