Gads zooks we need a helicopter

The commute out this morning was miserable. I am deeply grateful that my roommate can handle driving in snow and ice while more snow zings down and some spots had fog. We also went to the grocery store while we were out. Roomie admits she is exhausted. She's sipping hot licorice tea right now. I can't believe how much snow fell in just an hour or so. I need to get out and clear the walk again though I am not sure how much good the effort will do. Also need to get out and feed the hens. A nap may intrude first.

It is exhausting to drive in heavy traffic and bad weather conditions. Then put both of those together and Gad zooks is a good word for it. LOL

@celticeagle Oh God help us the commute tonight was nasty. The roads were packed snow and ice. I'm so deeply grateful to be home with hot food in me and not in a cold ditch.

We had very little snow fall until about 9 am then it dumped on us. It is now just slightly snowing.

@RichardMeister I know. I must quit staring out the window. We need to leave in about half an hour. I am NOT looking forward to the drive.

I am a firm believer in the nap, though I didn't mean to, I dozed for 2 hours yesterday evening from 5:30 to 7:30, obviously I was tired.

@Jessicalynnt Last year burned me out on nasty roads. When my Mom lived in Missouri, there were some roller coaster roads near her. Very steep then boom, very steep the other way.

@Jessicalynnt Me, too. I have driven on horrible roads and nasty driveway but this year is beyond crazy wild.

Don't "chicken out" on feeding those hens. That was what I hated about my year in Spokane years ago. I could not keep up with that damnable snowfall.

@JamesHxstatic You will be happy to know that I have just fed the hens and gave them water. I wish I could get down to Peter burro. He will have to wait until the hubster gets home tonight.

It would be mentally tiring to concentrate so hard when driving in such bad conditions. I guess the hens have good shelter from the elements.

@JudyEv I've heard that. We have a heat lamp hanging in the chicken coop that provides at least moderate warmth and light for them.

@JudyEv The hens have a little wooden coop that my hubby made for them.

@sallypup I understand that where there is a lot of really cold weather the chickens' combs can freeze and drop off.

Thanks @prinzcy I sat in my seat and kept my mouth shut, praying the car would not slide into the ditch.

That is why I am glad I do not live where it snows. It just rains a lot here in the winter. It has been raining all day here.

I never tried licorice tea but I do like licorice and it sounds pretty good on a cold winter day. Sorry to hear that you're getting so much snow and ice. We've been very lucky this winter with very little snow and I'm hoping it stays that way.

@Rohvannyn Part of it is us being sick to here of snow and ice. And yeah, about 3 inches and not quitting entirely until tomorrow.

I know what you mean. In our area it is usually wet when it rains a lot but no snow.
