I took my cousin out to lunch as a thank you for helping me around the house. So we decided to grab some fast food and went to a local park to eat.
Kind of surprised at the number of bids there. There were hundreds. At least 200 maybe close to 300.
There were seagulls. Crows. Canadian Geese. A couple of ducks and I saw a couple of Redwinged Blackbirds..and some other little flitty birds..
After eating I wanted to get out of the car and snap some pics. The birds did not disappoint me. I really wish I had brought my big camera instead of only my cell. Here is one of the cool images I got.

@minx267 oh I don't like crows. They kinda freak me out. I agree with you, it's wonderful to see parrots daily and hear them chirping. It's not that common actually but we have a group of 4 in our society. Kites are predators. They are huge birds which feed on the eggs of little ones. Oh n also, I forgot to mention sparrows!

@jesroash ah, we just rescued an injured crow today. so we have one in our house...
Ah ok. now I understand the Kite.. we have Red Tailed Hawks that stop and land in my trees. and plenty of blue jays, robins and chickadees and sparrows as well.. but I love going to the park to see the water birds that I don't get to see in my back yard. Here's a couple of ducks I startled while taking pics

We do have a lot of birds in Connecticut, don't we? You were lucky to have your camera with you, I don't always carry mine with me and usually, when I come across something wonderful, I don't have it.

@BelleStarr LOL. well I use this thing as a purse also, it's like gigantic. probably 15-20 pounds.. my Roommates would not be so helpful.. my little cousin doesn't mind carrying it for me when we go out though lol. and my neck and shoulders sure do appreciate the break. (I usually dump it in a carriage at the stores first thing) But I have also taken pics of flowers at Home Depot and Lowes.. so I carry it everywhere. lol

@minx267 That is a great idea, I have never taken pictures at the Big Box stores but I do go out riding around looking for places. The Lavender Farm in Killingworth is worth the drive.

@ridingbet yes. Funny you should mention that I was looking at all the pictures I took and one of them looks like the bird created the white streak. Lol maybe he was a very fast bird...

@minx267 you are welcome. having also the 'clinical eye, or the observant eye, i noticed a streak of white line (or 2 lines) in the blue sky. i think these fine lines are the smoke from passing jet planes, right?
i sometimes see streaks of white line in the skies here, then the plane flying so up high

Great photo I enjoy bird watching. Some days I see birds landing on my lawn, as they hunt for food. My back yard has a hummingbird that likes to sit on the edge of the pond making sure the fish are safe.

Good question!. And I bet they would have if we were not in our car! :) we ate comfortably inside the vehicle which was good because it is still cold out. I know it is probably hard to tell but there is still ICE on that pond and the birds in the back ground are actually sitting ON the water/ice and not IN the water.. here is another picture with a better view.
