To be able to look at things from a completely different angle can be so refreshing. The Irish comedian, Dave Allen, used it to great effect. Here's his take on a very well-known story, from the viewpoint of one who knew enough about human nature to make his living from it. Much of this comedian's material is on YouTube, the link below should kick-start you journey.
A clip from Irish comedian Dave Allen. He talks about his atheism and the bible.

@pgntwo It's strange that one small island has been packed so solid with creative talent.

A bit like Donegal - when the good Lord made it, he had to scrunch it up to fit it into place... ;)

A real master of timing! I think that it was he who ridiculed the design of the human body - "Who ever in their right mind would put the amusewment park right next to the sewage farm?" (or something to that effect). Thank you for this reminder about a great man who taught us the art of humour in the midst of respect (even though he claimed to be "an atheist, thank God")

He is one of the few to have mastered the art of subtle comedy, his timing is what makes it so effective. I shall have to hunt down that amusement park and sewage farm quote, I have forgotten the source, but do remember it.

He is so funny and so 'politically incorrect'. We used to love watching his TV series.

Another comedian who would have had a hard time of it today, perhaps. Very funny when talking to camera, but not always so great when it came to visual sketches alongside others, perhaps.

I hope you like them, he had a particularly wry outlook on some of the topics he covered in his shows.

It certainly is, and there's more of it on YouTube, some of it from videotape, so not highest quality image.

I've seen a couple of videos on YouTube. He is very funny. Teaching a child to tell time was hysterical. This video was also very entertaining. Thanks for sharing.
