Are you happy? Have you found happiness? Are you as happy as you want to be? Would you like to increase your level of happiness?
Here are 10 great ways (steps, keys) to help you be happy or increase your level of happiness:
1) Like any journey it all starts with the first step. Develop the mindset that you want to be happy. Nothing can make you happy if you don't want to be happy. Happiness is a choice. If we want to be happy we can be happy in all circumstances. We have to choose to be happy!
2) Become a spiritual person. Can one be truly happy without God? Yes, one can temporarily be happy without God but they usually replace God with something else that becomes like a god. This is my list and my opinion!
3) Read the Bible daily. The word happy is found about 100 times and the word joy about 200 times in the Bible.
4) Exercise. Exercise makes us happier as it helps us look better and feel better.
5) Eat nutritious food. If we get sick, we will not be happy.
6) Get enough sleep. It repairs our body and re-energises us. It is important.
7) Find a few good friends. A good friend is priceless and we all need someone that we can depend on.
8) Be forgiving. Hatred and grudges are very heavy loads that are beyond humans to carry.
9) Love your neighbour as yourself. We need to give love and receive love.
10) Be a hard worker. Yes, get busy doing things. Have you ever seen a happy lazy person?
Do you agree with this list? Can you add to this list?

Bonuses at no charge or in case you don't like one of the ten:
* Laugh a lot. Smile a lot. It is good medicine. Watch some funny comedians like Mr. Bean. Have you ever seen a happy person who does not smile, laugh or have a sense of humour?
* Take time to connect with nature. Watch a sunset, sunrise, go to the beach, walk in a forest, climb a mountain, grow some plants, etc
* Be thankful! Be thankful to God, to your parents, to your family, to your friends, to your boss, to the government, to people you meet, etc
* Do volunteer work. I find it very rewarding.
* Be a giver. Jesus said that there is more happiness in giving than in receiving.
* Be clean. Keep your body, house, clothes, mind, life, ect, clean.
* Be a good and helpful neighbour. Be good in everything you do.

Some interesting quotations about happiness:
Acts 20:35 (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition) "In everything I have pointed out to you [by example] that, by working diligently in this manner, we ought to assist the weak, being mindful of the words of the Lord Jesus, how He Himself said, It is more blessed (makes one happier and more to be envied) to give than to receive."
If you want happiness for an hour — take a nap.’ If you want happiness for a day — go fishing. If you want happiness for a year — inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime — help someone else.” (Chinese Proverb)
“Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.” (Buddha)
"“We begin from the recognition that all beings cherish happiness and do not want suffering. It then becomes both morally wrong and pragmatically unwise to pursue only one’s own happiness oblivious to the feelings and aspirations of all others who surround us as members of the same human family. The wiser course is to think of others when pursuing our own happiness.” (Dalai Lama)
“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” (John Lennon)

I enjoyed reading this. Whatever you wrote is so true. Yes we do need to forgive each other. Nowadays we can see siblings fighting with each other over things like property and they dont even speak to each other. Life is short and instead of fighting over wordly things let us enjoy each and every moments.

When one is a good neighbour, usually the neighbours are also good most of the time in return and you are happier because of the peaceful relationships that you have close to home. In times of trouble, they may come to your rescue.
