I've Been Tricked!

Earlier this evening my boyfriend and I were heading out to get dinner, when we spotted my Amazon Prime package on the doorstep. So I picked it up and was surprised to find a carved turnip sitting behind it. It looked like one of those shrunken witch's heads that people make with apples.
Well, my first reaction was to freak out, because who left that there and what did it mean? Was it a cursed object? Was it a threat to me? Was it my religious neighbors' way of saying I'm a witch? (I live down the road from a Catholic church in a neighborhood full of Catholics...most of them are immigrants from other countries, and I don't know what kind of customs they have. For all I knew leaving a shrunken witch's head on someone's doorstep could have malicious intent.)
Anyway, I panicked, thinking that someone was out to get me. I texted my brother asking if he left it, and then called my mom to find out if she or my sister had. And it turns out they found one on their doorstep, too! My youngest brother carved faces in these little turnips and left them on our doorsteps thinking it was a funny Halloween prank. My mom said her first thought was that maybe it was a cursed object, too! So at least I guess I'm not alone in wondering that. I guess it was a good trick because he sure got me scared for a while there.
The picture is mine, and is of the "shrunken witch's head" I found on my doorstep. Please ignore the layer of cat hair on the ground; a cat lives here, and I don't sweep the doorstep often.

The cat hair gives it a bit more of a creepy appearance!
Your brother is quite a prankster.
My cat left poop on our steps. Guess she wanted to keep us on our toes.

You've been tricked too!
Yes, my brother is a prankster. He was the only person I could think of who might have left it that would have done so to be funny. But I didn't think he would take the time out of his day to do so... Guess I was wrong! And yes, it's all cat hair and dust around here... We've got fur tumbleweeds blowing all over. Try to vacuum or sweep them up and they just show back up again by the end of the day. It's a losing battle.

@Srbageldog I do the same. Dusty is a furball and when she runs down the hall you can see the fur fly. Yay!

Glad it's not just me! I felt a bit foolish once I learned my brother had left it!
