In my country, some local people have a big celebration for a little girl’s birthday to young adulthood. These are aged 1, 7 and 18. It was a celebration like a typical debut that can be seen on different social media. I am not also sure with the other Filipinos if they still continue this practice. My little niece will have her big celebration three months from now. The family was so excited for it. As early as of this month, we are trying to find a perfect venue for her 7th birthday. She was about to enter a stage of knowing what is right or wrong. “Do you have this kind of celebration for girls?” “Are there any special practice in celebrating it?” Image Credit: pixabay.com

When I was young, the only celebration was at age 21. Nowadays the 18th birthday has taken over from the 21st. We don't have a particularly significant birthday before that.

In fact, I wasn't aware that little girls have three biggest celebrations. Not until my mother told me about it.I am just aware that young lady celebrates her 18th birthday. For boys, they usually have a big celebration at the aged of 21.

@LadyDuck I do think that she needs to have it. It is better to continue the practice.

@Shavkat If it is a tradition of your country, it is nice to follow the tradition.

That is very interesting, and at that age she can appreciate it!! I had a one year old party, 11, 13, 24 and 25th. Haven't gotten to the others!!! We we won't say about them!!

@Shavkat Wow, they start at age 1. That is really something. We have in Judaism Bar and Bat Mitzvahs at the age of 13.

That is sweet. Here it is common to celebrate every birthday with a party but around 10 or so they usually start just celebrating with a few close friends instead of such a big party.

I personally think that it is still an option of the Filipinos not to indulge in a big party. But then, my little niece's granny seems a bit traditional with such practice. Moreover, we also think that my little niece deserves to experience it, too.

i think a birthday celebration of 7 years is practiced here in our country because apparently, 7 years is the first elementary grade level and 7 years is the age apt for that.

I agree, my friend. It is quite interesting because my little niece had entered grade 1 at the age of 6 this year. She is quite advance.
