Good morning on a gloomy Wednesday my friends, how are you? Last night , my kid brother messaged us if we like the deep-fried exotic edible beetle because he and his friends were having a drinking session. The exotic food goes well with the wine. I said YES, GIVE US SOME!. So last night, he dropped by and gave me this plastic pack with the beetles. I munched 2 pieces. This morning, my son took 2 pieces and ate it. It is crunchy and so tasty especially the part with the eggs. Would you eat a piece of food like this beetle as a dare? This discussion answers a post of @Starmaiden .

Hi po. I am not a fan of anything like that except for those kuhol (I forget the name I will ask my mommy). Those little shell creatures. But other than that, no more.

@mlgen1037 my late mother cooked 'sinigang na palaka' and the broth is already 'ulam' for me.

@ridingbet Yes po, those snails. Yummy. I do not like fried frogs even if they taste like chicken. I would still know that they are frogs.

Oh goodness, I feel sick at the simple idea of eating those things.

@LadyDuck they are thoroughly cleaned and boiled for several minutes before deep-frying them.

that is always the perception of some, but when they taste, they say it is yummy. these insects, when cooked properly, are eaten during drinking spree of men here in my place.

what do you mean with your second statement? "I didn't even know these beetles could eat". of course, any living entity should eat in order to survive. maybe you mean, "I didn't even know these beetles could be eaten." am i right?

I suppose it would be no different than eating the french exotic food "Escargo". (Snails) But I'll still stick with pizza.

snails are also tasty. my mother cooked snails so good that the broth is already a dish. you really cannot be challenged to take a bite of snails or these edible bugs, right?

I am not sure if I would be able to eat them. I think that I would have to see them in person first. I might eat one as an experiment or a dare...or maybe not
