Windows stole my pics!

So, I updated my computer and for some reason, the folder that had my pictures was lost. I had hundreds of pictures of family members in a folder labeled family. I don't look at them every day so it took me a little longer than usual to notice. What I do is i get on Facebook and save pictures that they upload so that i can keep them in an album. I also contact family members and have them send me pictures from personal albums they have. i had planned on printing some of them out and making album books and giving them out at my wedding or printing all of them and passing albums around at my first family reunion and having everyone sign them or something. kind of like a yearbook but of family members and events and stuff. well back on subject, I also use these pictures as my screen saver. So, the screensaver was not working and when i went to save more pictures i could not find the folder anywhere.I searched my computer and the only folder by that name was a contacts folder made by windows called family. So, I think that somehow the folder got replaced. It took me a month to go back through everyone's facebooks finding old pictures of when i was a kid and of events, graduations, proms, weddings. I still don't have em all replaced. Guess I should have backed them up. Has anyone else had this issue? Where do you back up family albums online that is safe and secure?

Did you look at your garbage bin? There is a long shot chance that it was deleted accidentally, it's either that or it was corrupted, you are right, you should had made a back up. I put some of mine in photobucket.

I never had this happen to me. But maybe an update caused it. Also, maybe the folder was renamed and that is why you cannot find it under the name you are searching.

In windows saved its state at different points and just need to start the windows from earlier saved point, all photos will be recovered. Just go to any technician and he will help you. It is easy...
