What to Keep-in-Mind when You Hear People 'Thank God' for Things

Every 'so-often' (almost every DAY), people on my Facebook friend-list "Thank God" for things which--even 'if you believe God exists' (which I'm not discussing here)--God has almost-nothing to do with.
(things like 'a pretty sunset' or 'a day of good weather' or 'a successful surgery'---sure, you can say 'God gave people & things the power to make & do such wonderful things'; "thanking him for the thing" is like thanking 'the hardware-store' every time you hammer a nail )
But the important thing is that a) something good happened for them & b) they want to be grateful. I believe that God is everything ... the way that--whenever you imagine something--it's ALL You! When someone thanks 'God' for anything, they're kind-of using a "shortcut" there ... 'God,' as kind of a "team reference" for 'every existing thing that played a part in fulfilling their need.'
(The way that--if you thank "the OKC Thunder" for bringing lots of business to the Oklahoma City area--you're really 'thanking' (I almost said "thinking," but http://preformus.blogspot.com/2018/08/thank-thankful-thanks-thankfully.html that's not too far-off) every team-member & trainer & assistant & coach & manager for the part they played.)
So the right response to give when you see someone 'thank God' for their good fortune? "You're welcome!"

I think when people thank God it's their own personal relation with him, faith is personal so a person can thank God or whatever it is he believes in when something favorable to him occurs, I would like to believe that being thankful is inherent in every individual, the only difference is the degree on how we use and express it as well as the modes.
