A Further Example of How Convenience 'Spoils' Us

It literally 'ruins' us for the inconvenient 'work' we have to do when the convenience is unavailable. Case in point: my blog. Earlier (months ago, I think) I used a Windows-program to write my blog. The program had an auto-link function where--if I told it I wanted a word 'hyperlinked to a certain site' every time I used that word--it would automatically hyperlink that word every time I typed it. But then the publicly-shared program got too 'updated' to be compatible with my Windows Vista OS. 'That's fine,' I thought. 'I can just go back to "looking up each of the pages I want certain-words to be linked to, and hyperlinking the individual words every time I blog them" as I did for years before I used Windows Live Writer!' But no! I'm sorely tempted--when I look at a post full of words I'm going to have to look up & individually hyperlink--to 'just skip it' and go do something else ... when I got used to 'such a "project"' only taking a few minutes, it doesn't seem to be "worth my time" to take an HOUR to do the same thing (although it was worth my time before I found Windows Live Writer). I guess 'email' ruined 'letter-writing' the same way---before email, a good way to share your thoughts with a friend far-away (if you weren't a well-known writer with access to publishing equipment) was 'a written letter sent by "snail-mail" (although they didn't exactly call it "snail-mail" at the time).' But--now that you can 'share your thoughts with a far away friend' by simply turning on your computer (which usually automatically logs onto the Internet), typing your thoughts, and clicking SEND--a snail-mail letter seems more like 'a souvenir from camp' or 'a moon-rock' or 'an important communique' than just 'a casual message.' ... That's the basic observation behind old-people's "Kids today ..." complaints.
Before I get down to 'work' on " my mission ," I feel the need to reflect on how today's conveniences (iDevices (or "mobiles"), convenienc...

Oh I could go on and on a about this topic. I cannot stand the laziness and unappreciative spoiled rotten lives of them. A good dose of true hardship might help.

I was watching a sermon by Pastor T.D. Jakes the other day, where he explains why God required 'sacrifices' & 'donations' & 'work' etc.---because If you're not "invested" in 'the project' (i.e. if you don't lose anything should the project (church, community, business, family) FAIL), you won't have any reason to carry it through to success!

@Courage7 Of course, that might not be "the specific sermon I was listening to"; but it's probably gonna be connected to Pastor T.D. Jakes' account there sooner (if it's not already there somewhere)

You are so right about people being spoiled by these things. I just wonder how many people there are that still sends hand written letters anymore through the mail.

@mythociate No, not any more. I guess that's what made me wonder how many people really do send letters that way anymore.
