Pink Floyd’s album “The Dark Side of the Moon” was a phenomenon in its day and remains one for the history books. The fact it topped Billboard for only a week is irrelevant. “The Dark Side of the Moon” spent an astounding 741 consecutive weeks on Billboard from 1973 to 1988 and has sold 45 million units to date. The album made band members Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright wealthy and that is before “The Wall.”
“Time” is one of the album’s best known tracks. Though given group writing credit, Waters composed the lyrics. The introduction is among the most instantly recognizable in rock history. Alan Parsons recorded the clocks and alarms at an antique store. That lead is followed by a drum solo and tick tock sound on rototoms. Theme is simple about time passing and realizing it too late. The song is frequently used in movie and TV soundtracks and an overplayed staple on classic rock radio.

Pink Floyd had a lot of great songs. I wonder how they got that name?

Call 911, I’m dying of shock and surprise here!
Better song than it was when I heard it 82 times a day.
