“What’s you name? Who’s your daddy? Is he rich like me?” “Time of the Season” is a psychedelic era classic. The Zombies began life as the Mustangs in 1958 by founders keyboardist Rod Argent and lead vocalist Colin Blunstone. There was already a group named the Mustangs and they just picked the Zombies. The band toiled for years until their best known song “She’s Not there” in 1967. Argent wrote both hit songs. From the album “Odessey and Oracle,” “Time of the Season” was released after the band broke up and charted at Billboard #3. “Time of the Season” appears on numerous movie soundtracks being symbolic of its time. Following the band’s breakup in 1968, Argent formed a group named after himself and had a big hit with “Hold Your Head Up.” The Zombies have been included in the new class of inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I know the song well, I didn't know it was the Zombies who did it though.
