Captain D's for Lunch

While out running errands earlier, I stopped at Captain D's for a late lunch and probably dinner. I love their fish and shrimp. The hushpuppies are really good too. The food is always very fresh. I usually get green beans and coleslaw for the side items. It all tastes like homemade food.
Every now and then I sprinkle a little of the malt vinegar on my fish. It gives it a slightly different taste. Very good. If you have not tried it, you should. I read the ingredients and this is what the bottle had... Malt Vinegar (Barley, corn malt), diluted with water to 5% acidity.
Have you tried Captain D's before? What about the malt vinegar?

@CarolDM Im not a fan of seafood anyways. besides fried scallops from the place out back.

Never tried Captain D's....but I always loved Long John Silvers when I was in Texas....unfortunately have neither of those here.

There is no such place here. But I have had malt vinegar on fried fish and fries and really enjoyed it.

I have never been to caption D's but I worked at LJS for years and I hear it's about the same.
And that malt vinger is awful when someone drops the bottle and it breaks..so hard to clean up lol.

I like Captain D's but the one I went to on occassion has been replaced by Cookout. I wish it had remained Captain D's. I always put vinegar on fish and chips. I think their malt and vinegar is tasty.

Fish just isn't the same without malt vinegar... and no, I've never been to Captain D's! Not sure we have one here!!

My daughter loves Captain D's in Charleston, but the one in the larger town we go to isn't good at all. I guess it just depends on the cooks or manager. I might give it a try again to see if they've improved.
