Do People Not Care Anymore?

Lately anytime I try and ask for some extra help with the Utility Bill, Food, Power Bill, etc people seem to shrug it off as it's no Big deal. Even when I bring up my upcoming surgery they seem to think we do not need the help. Just because things happen and we have a New Car and then my husband gets hit with another Garnishment which I feel is on the shady side, still people think we are joking and their is no way we need any help.
Sometimes lately I want to go just run away and hide. Pretend like nothing matters anymore, but where would I go that would be safe? It's a shame when a person is disabled but married they make too much $$ to get any help from anywhere. And since I cannot drive and my husband works days we can never get to a Food Bank either.
I am getting frustrated and trying to not let myself get too depressed over this. Just need Prayers and a Miracle.

Thanks for the Prayers... We were able to get the $$ needed for the Utility bill so we have no fear of being disconnected and God is good. Still can't believe some of the people who were Rude.

Not that we know of. Funny thing is his Mom passed last July and his Step Dad in Feb. The will etc and what to do is being situated still, but the papers from the Laeyers is saying his Sister will be in charge of my husbands $$ and since we do not get along with her, who really knows what will happen.
