My encounter with the turkey

I was 5 years old when we were living in a place like a prairie. There were many turkeys roaming around. When I found a nest with baby turkeys, I grabbed 2 and left for home with the intention of giving one to my cousin and one for me. But then there came the mother turkey and pecked on my butt and shuffled the wings on my feet. It's a good thing that I was able to return the babies to the nest. Neat lesson learned.

Oh your a naughty little turkey kidnapper there. I think you should have planned better and see if the mother wasn't around. I know turkey can become aggressive when they are threatened. I hope it didn't give you some serious damage on your butt and feet.

@Alexandoy It seems like the mother was threatened with you for taking two of her babies.

One year our stepfather for Thanksgiving bought a live one because he wanted to teach us this is where Turkey meat comes from. We were young 5 to 7. His fears came true, would fall in love with it and not want to kill it for Thanksgiving dinner. He did it anyway and made us watch. He was a special kind of jerk and we were poor so of course we ate it. It was just like even at 5 or 7 we know how it works, we do not need to see it. I do not know maybe in the big scheme it changed how you respect where food comes from, but I still think that was pretty evil. My stepfather was a mean man.

He sure was very mean to traumatize children with butchering a turkey.

That is a natural instinct of a mother to depend her children. I hope you were not really hurt.
