Needed to buy something yesterday and it was a small item, under $10 but the postage was nearly $12!. I'd been shopping earlier in the day and looked for this item in several places without finding it. I remembered that I could get free postage on a site I recently joined so went there, found exactly what I needed - free postage - with a hitch. I had to spend $45. . So I did. I bought sweets, chocolates, a reed diffuser and some sleeping pills. I'm such a dodo.

If you join Amazon Prime over here, which costs £79 a year, you get free next day delivery on most items, plus a tv streaming service and music.

I think it might take longer from the UK to Au than a day -it's a different set - up entirely where I live. Thanks anyway.

@MsTickle Oh, you bought it from the UK? I doubt that would be free as I think it's just within the UK. I think even without Prime 3-5 days delivery is free anyway.

Yes, that shipping cost can really add up. I wait until there's a sale (and sometimes free shipping) before I purchase online. Plus I have this extension on chrome that find codes for deals. Like I recently bought an air fryer that originally was 99.00, on sale for 79.00, then I have a code with a percentage off and then this extension found another code so i ended up spending only 52.00.

That's the sort of thing I'd do. Postage is horrendous at the moment - and not terribly reliable.
